I thought it jumped the shark back ~1967; then again ~1984, or whenever Jaws 2 came out...
The Yankees are broadcasting a baseball game in 3D. I think that'd be freakin awesome to see.
This has been exactly my sentiment for a while now. As long as they don't overdo the gimmick of 3D by exploding things in your face and such, it can be a great enhancement to a movie. When they start going for cheap thrills by overplaying the 3D, I start to feel insulted. I want to see a good movie, first and foremost.I think when it is done well and is used not as a gimmick for stuff "shooting out" at you but rather to give greater depth (e.g. Avatar & Toy Story 3) it is fantastic.
3d wont fail this time. It is different now. Seriously
In order for something to jump the shark, doesn't it have to go from good to bad? Seeing as how I've never seen a good implementation of 3D, I think it is impossible for it to have jumped the shark.
I think the tech will always fail until they can do it without requiring ridiculous glasses.
