So family was in town and we got on the topic of money and earnings. One of my family members says he hasn't had a raise in 3 years by choice, and instead gives out that money to his employees to bump up their raises. This seemed really weird to me, and doesn't make sense. If I had the choice of how to hand out raises I would give myself something, even if it was just a bit more then the inflation increase just to keep even with the cost of living. I might keep mine smallish to give employees under me more, but forego it for 3 years? There is no way.
Anybody else forego raises by choice?
