I am asking If I Can paint L1 Bridges without worrying about connecting neighbouring two L1 Bridges? Its damn hard connect individual bridges with enough grafite. I have heard that someone has connected all L1 Bridges without problems, but I'm a bit sceptical about it. I really need more info an this.

BTW how far can I hope to OC My rig:

Abit KT7A Moterboard (VIA KT133a)
AMD Duron 800 CPU
CromeORB Cooler
Deskstar 75 GXP 45GB 7200 HDD
Macase 300W Power Suply
WIN98
128 MB PC133 Simple Technology RAM
TEAC 32x CD ROM
TEAC CD-RW 4x4x32
SB Live! 1024
Hercules 3D Prophet II MX 32MB (GeForce2MX)
U.S. Robotics 3 COM WIN Int Modem

I could use the Multiplier, FSB and Voltage settings.
Thanks In Advance.

I didn't exactly do a "clean" job doing my traces, but I've been running probably for something like 6 months perfectly fine with my duron. Just gotta make sure you PUT A LOT OF GRAPHITE on it if you are using a pencil

My understanding is that if the L1 bridges are inter-connected the multiplier will remain unlocked.

AtaStrumf:

If you're going to OC the chip, go get a different HSF

Orbs are a beauty for the eye, but performance wise they suck.

I used graphite (aka pencil lead) to connect them. It wasn't the best job even though I was using .5 lead. It's just really hard to do it . But yeah, all of the mult's work except for 9.5.... @9.5 it starts beeping at me like crazy an di have to hold down insert to get it to boot up. But 10 works perfectly fine

I have connected all the bridges together once by accident with the conductive ink pen...the PC would not start up..NOTHING AT ALL..then I just used some Nail Polish remover to get rid of the ink and it worked fine again

NAIL POLISH REMOVER!? On a processor? I suppose it's not as bad as lighter fluid or something though.

Interesting, interesting...
Any Suggestions on Multilpyer, FSB, Voltage settings for my OC Duron 800.
What HFS do you suggest DanishGuy?

I used a defogger kit for car windows, applying with a very thin paintbrush. I covered the entire bridges with regular tape, and did 4 holes in in with a scalpel. Then applied the defogger stuff. Worked 1st time. And I then exchanged the Chrome Orb with a Silverado 50, which makes it run 10 degrees lower, overclocked from 900mhz to 1ghz. Unfortunately I can't get it higher than 1ghz.

I think you are thinking of gasoline...

Nail polish remover is just a mild solvent - I have been using it on video cards and CPU's for years. It is great at removing almost everything, evaporates quickly and will not harm a thing.

AtaStrumf:

If you live in Europe I'd recommend the Silverado50 from http://www.noisecontrol.de it's a very nice cooler!!!!

Anyhow, US citizens seen to go for the GlobalWin Fop 38 & 32-1. Some like Alpha & Taisol HSF's too.

Dan I'm having a little problem uderstanding your statement:

My understanding is that if the L1 bridges are inter-connected the multiplier will remain unlocked.

How will it REMAIN Unlocked? Do you mean it doesn't matter if you interconnect The L1 Bridges, it will unlock the multiplier anyway, and not do anything else?

Ata. I have a TBird 900, multiplier at 10, FSB at 100 (can't seem to get it stable even not at 103 or so). And voltage at default. Setting it to 1.85 doesn't help me getting past 1ghz.

I'm very surprised you can't get FSB above 100 MeloManiac. I have a Duron 800, Abit Kt7a and 128 MB PC133 RAM and have been able to run 107 FSB with 8x Multiplier giving me 856MHz, without any problems. I even increased it to 114 x 7 and It worked, but I was getting flickers in my graphics so went to 8 x 107. I suppose I could increase the FSB a little more with enough stability but I havent experimented much yet.

Maybe you should try Lowering the Multiplier and then increasing the FSB. It may give the same MHz but your performance will increase (MEMORY!!!) Just test the memory Benchmark that comes with Sisoft Sandra 2001.
I have a score of 486/600 MB/s. My celeron II 600 on ABIT SA6R (i815e)gave me 100/104 MB/s which is not really relevant here, but I thought I'd share that with you anyway. Intel suc*ks!!!
And try Burning in. Some peolple say it helps to OC more, some say it doesnt but it doesnt hurt to try. Just get CPU Stability Test or SiSoft Sandra 2001 (they are both small programs easily downloadable from WWW) and run Burn In Wizard or in case of CPU Stability Test just run it for a while in hardcore. AND I suppose you have at least 300W PSU, right?

Thanks for the Tips and hope you can use my advice to OC a bit more.
