Yes, that was bitter sarcasm.
I guess the more informative question would be:
Has anyone managed to go running (anywhere from 2.5k-5k) and actually keep a seal with the Shure E2C's?
This is in fact driving crazy. Now I agree that the stock iPod earbuds suck. I blow them constantly. Now, I am prefectly fine with the sound that comes out of the $45 Sony earbuds (can't remember the model) that you see at all the standard B%M stores. Except they have one fatal flaw: I hate uneven cords. Truly. It makes running impossible for various reasons.
With that said, I've been waiting for these Shure E2C's for quite some time, and I also can't simply return them for the very same reason: I'm in South Korea, and had them brought to me. So I guess I'm looking for some tips from actual users (or sufferers).
I've tried all three earbud connections the E2C's came with. All three suffer from the same problem, to varying degrees:
After a couple kilometers, my ear gets sweaty (I guess) and the seal starts to fail. First I hear crackling in my ear. Then they start to jiggle a little. And then, the simply pop out of my ear.
The standard kind (clear but hard, come pre-installed) are the worst. The above happens really quickly, regardless of earbud size.
The black, flimsy rubber kind, which are just like the material on the aforementioned Sony's, last a little longer, but once they slip, they slip for good.
The foam plugs, while the best of the bunch, also suffer because once the moisture builds up, the earbud is useless. I can literally pull it out of my ear, and squeeze the sweat from the bud.
Let me put it like this:
I've never run even a full four kilometers without having to constantly battle keeping a seal in my ears.
It sucks.
