Has anyone else noticed that women seem to lack genetic code to properly load a dishwasher?

I swear to god, every girl I've been with can't load a dishwasher worth sh1t. I'm not going to go into details but has anyone else noticed this trend? I hate having to wash dishes by hand since they decided to put the plates facing the wrong way, or loaded the bowls with the rim completely against the back of a plate wtih like .01 mm of free space!

heh, I think the same thing after my wife does the dishes.

To top it off, when they don't come clean (loading all the bowls on the bottom rack) she just runs them again the same way.

I mean.. there's an entire 'bug list' they're working on for female v2.0.

I never get to tell becuase i don't use my dishwasher when i have girls over. Actually I don't use it, maybe the girls you date are spoiled rich kids who never had to do it before! If so, find yourself a sugar-mama

I cook about 5 times a week and i have lots of pots/pans. Washing them by hand gives me a reason to get up and stand up for a while after a hearty dinner. I just have the girl sit in the living room listen to music or whatever while i get everything clean.. I'm anal about cleaning up any kind of mess. Not an OCD, but everytime i leave my apartment, everything has to be perfect becuase there's no feeling like coming home to a clean place

Most people I know don't seem to know what a dishwasher is. They tend to pile everything up in the sink and hope it goes way.

I've never used a dishwasher once in my life....

we (my sis and i) were taught by mommy to wash our dishes by hand.

so it's only natural if i don't know the "correct" way to load a dishwasher. You lazy bums.

You just want the girls to like you, so you let them see you clean.

Interesting.. my husband doesnt know how to load the dishwasher. I always have to shuffle around the dishes after he says hes finished loading.

My wife does the dishes perfectly every time. She just says, "Sophie, (that's our maid) would you take care of the dishes now please."

Of course, we don't like it when our dishwasher gets loaded, at least not while she's working, but whatever she does on her personal time is her business.

Actually, the guy next door's dishwasher leaked and damaged the unit downstairs. That would sooooo suck. I need to major headaches in my life at this point to happen to me.

My roommate is the one that doesn't know how to load dishes properly. And if they dishes don't get completely clean, he'll just run them through again. He doesn't seem to understand that if the dishwasher can't clean it the first time, it sure won't be able to clean it any time after that, especially with it being baked on.

I handle it, because I can get more dishes in there, by far! I swear, it seems she tries to strategically place the dishes to allow the fewest to fit. I rinse the dishes and load them, ASAP. They rinse nice and clean with cold water, if you don't allow them to sit. When they're done, I put them away immediately. My wife told me that my sister got a sign to put on their dishwasher, that says washed on one side, and dirty on the other. I said, "WTF, if they're clean, you put them away... DAMN!"

it's a spatial ability thing. they can't load it for the same reason they can't find their way around the town they've lived in their entire lives.

although i'm sure there are men who have the same problems.

I second this thread. My wife can't maximize the use of the dishwasher for $hit. She tries, but manges to get only about half the dishes I do into it and then even those come out dirty. Weird. I thought only I had that problem.

I agree. For some reason, most of the time my GF insists on hand washing everything. Then she spreads it all over my counter to dry, leaving me a sopping wet counter, so I wait for her to look the other way then put all the dishes she just washed into the dishwasher where they belong.

But when she DOES use the dishwasher (I don't understand what the trigger is), she feels it is necessary to pack everything in as tightly as humanly possible. She then complains about MY method of loading it, which is to maximize the downfacing dish area.
