Has anyone else STILL not gotten the Visiontek ti200 rebate from Best Buy?

I still have not gotten mine. I called a month ago and they said it would be sent out the 23rd. Idon't think that happened. YOu should call and complain , then they will send it out soon.

Called and was told they didn't have my info. Anyone PM me a scan of upc & receipt for this.
Always scan my rebates but installed XP last month and seem to have lost all saved info.
Hate to lose out on this money

Duh! I got mine like 2 months ago.

But that brings me to my point about rebates, it's all a scam.
How do I figure? This is how:

Say an item is $200, - $100 MIR.

So right off the bat, probably about 15-20% of people forget to fill out the rebate.
Then about another 1-2% address it improperly or it gets lost.
Then you take another 10-15% who forget about it once they mail it and never receive it but dont remember they ever sent it.
Then you get another 3-5% who mailed it, tracked it, know about it, but the company insists they never received it or it was missing information.

So in the end, you don't have enough people who care to file any kinda "false rebate claim" or any violation in the company, because most people who followed through got it.

Yet at the same time, you're talking about anywhere from 29% up to 47% of people never receiving it!
Thus, that is why companies can do $100 mir

The goons at New Rochelle that handle this rebate are bad news.
I had to make 6-8 phone calls, sent in 2 faxes to get things straight.
Basically I sent 2 rebates, 1 for me, 1 for my brother, at 2 different addr, in 2 different state.
Somehow they said both rebates invalid since used same receipt. I have copies of everything.
Short story: got both rebates eventually.

The always make excuses, their computers are down, phone down, fax down.
Call and call often. Everyday if you have to.

I called it last Monday, and CSR said she would send the check the same day. Guess what I got my rebate check on Thursday.
So anybody has not received the check yet should call (early morning is the best time to call)

I've made several calls to the New Rochelle chaos center...and they say my rebate is scheduled to be sent out the 25th of this month. I started hounding them in February. Everybody there is always making promises, but you still have to wait. Grrr.

I am calling BB myuself. It's been four months since I sent it in, and they say on the site they shipped it a month ago. Now whenever I have called, the line has been busy. I told BB's headquarters if I didn't hear from someone in a week I'd return the card and file a BBB complaint.
They kept pulling the "It was not our promotion" crap on the BB rebate line. Yeah right...I don't remember VisionTek sending my a Black Friday flyer with good deals to get me into the store...

Never called them, simply checked online every now and then.

I skipped the store bull, and bought card online.
It was backordered for weeks, but finally came through.
Had no problems with rebate stuff, just waiting forever like the rest of you.

Same here. Wheresmyrebate.com said it was mailed 3/24/02, so I called and got the old "Ohhhh...sorry, that was supposed to be 4/24/02." OK....so it's May and still no rebate. It specifically says "You should receive your rebate within 8 weeks." Maybe they made another mistake and that was supposed to be "8 months." :|

UPDATE: I called and they said it was mailed out 4 days ago. We'll see. THIS is why I try to avoid rebates like small pox. People post deals like "$150 with a $100 rebate!" Yeah right....good luck getting it.

I would never accuse you of this, but some people may think you are trying to commit fraud.

FYI I bought one at CrapUSA two months ago for $100 AR and checked on my rebate and it's not coming until the end of June.

GF got hers about one week ago. There was no record of us sending it in. The website showed nothing. The CSR's knew nothing, etc.

Then, voila, it showed up . Very frustrating.

the info at http://www.wheresmyrebate.com is crap. It showed that i have submitted 2 rebates for the same thing, which was not true. Also it took almost 2 months for that information to post on the web site. Called and talked to the CSR and said they said they'll correct it, but it'll take another 6-10 weeks for it to process. Which is such a scam, I did everything right and i still had to call and correct their mistake, and after that it still going to take another 2 months to process.

anyway, another 2 months gone by and still no rebate, so i called again and talked to the CSR then finally they said it had been approved and they will send out the check that day. after 6 months of struggle, i almost didn't care about my rebate anymore. But it was nice when the rebate showed up in my mailbox this past Friday. I felt like i got paid 50.

my advise is to call and call, it's your money, get it back. Don't give away your 50 dollars.

Well gee Curt, I suppose something like this has never happened to you.
I haven't posted many deals because I a new member and from surfing this forum it
seemed like others have had the same problem at times. I sure didn't expect to be
accused of fraud. I don't want the order # or credit card or anything else that would jeopardize
anyone's privacy. Seems like normally everyone
is very helpful. Maybe if you didn't have something constructive to add you should
have kept your post to yourself.

Well Kellster, what could you actually do with the UPC and receipt. Apparently if you don't have your original receipt (or a copy of it), you're dead in the water. So why would you ask someone else for there's? I mean of course if a person paid in cash, that'd be a different story. But then again, wouldn't they have the UPCs that were already redeemed on file? If not, then one could easily get away with fraud. And with you having no proof of ever buying the card and being a fairly new member, I think Curt is rightfully suspicious. What's to stop another 100 or so people from registering here at Anandtech and asking for a UPC and receipt? Smells fishy, very fishy.

You should have some sort of "status" if you sent it in Dec.
