Has anyone ever eaten dog before?

I was watching the movie Faces of Death and in this one episode this couple were breeding young adorable puppies (don't know the breed). These puppies were so adorable. They had those puppy dog eyes. Well they had puppy dog eyes, because the husband grabbed the one pooch and sliced that suker from head to toe. You heard that pooch whine like a little baby! Then he gutted that suker and threw him on the grill :Q

So has anyone eaten a dog before? How did it taste? Do they taste like chicken? And if you did eat a dog, which ones are your favorite? Poodles, Bull dog, etc...

It might be gross to Americans but it's common to eat dog in other countries. And since people post from other countries, maybe they could shed some light on why they eat dog and if it taste good. So thats why I asked.

You lived in Korea for 6 months? Did you witness any dog eating going on? Did you notice dead dogs hanging from meat hooks? It's very common to go to a Korean market and to see dead dogs that are hanging from a hook.

That is so true... The difference is in America meat is nicely packaged and is called hotdog or hamburger. It's all the same as far as I'm concerned.

All depends on where you're from on what you consider gross eating.

Americans consider eating dog wrong, but don't seem to mind about all other types of meat... I don't really understand whats the difference... not saying I would ever eat it, but I could see how someone does...

My father was in 'Nam, and he said that everytime someone had a litter of pups on the base, they would have to check civilians when they left every day because they would try to sneak pups out.

Also, his uncle was in Korea, and he said that they civilians would take a dog and put him out in the sun for 2-3 days with no food or water, and then they would give him all the rice and water he wanted, then they would kill it and roast it, split the stomach open, eat the rice, and then eat the dog.

But no, not that I have ever known of, but I eat alot of Chinese.

LOL, my dad also talked about in Vietnam, in the markets, they had barbecued rats hanging up.

Yes I have in some of the local markets and yes I have dined in those local establishments and ordered beef or at least it tasted like beef
but I can't be to sure.
