Thanks for the reply. I've already contacted 8-9 potential ISPs in the area, I've heard back from a few saying they don't cover the area and don't normally consider projects of that sort. Some of them simply haven't gotten back to me yet. Anyway, thanks again for the help, I'll be sure to bump this in a few months or so when whatever we end up going with is decided. I most likely won't be living there by then anyway, as it's looking like law school will take me a good ways away from the boonies. Take care all.

If there is a town/company in the 5-mile viscinity or so, you could probably convince them to let you put up a point-to-point wireless bridge. I know that the Cisco Aironet bridges have a range exceeding 5 miles with 54mbit bandwidth. Even splitting a T1 with the person/business would be cheaper than extending the lines. The equipment really isn't that expensive. The company I work for typically does the installations for $3000-4000 depending on what kind of cabling needs to be done, and if any additional equipment is needed. They're rock solid, though, once they're up.

That was what I was thinking, locate a wireless node where the broadband ends and beam it over on good gear.
