has anyone had a problem inserting their ram into an ecs board???

i have an ECS K7vta3 board and can't get the little clips on the ends of the ram receptacles to engage the ram....i'm pushing hard and they just won't click into place...am i doin' something wrong or is this a known problem???

have you had a lot of experience installing ram? just curious. sometimes it just takes a lot of force to get them in. wish they were a bit easier :disgust:

ive made a couple of threads asking why everything isnt in a ZIF format. things would be much easier.

Yeah, I had to push it in fairly hard. Hard enough where the motherboard started bending. Then finally it posted for me.

guess i'll take it to some tech guy here in town...this is my first pc so i don't want to break the board gettin it in.....just wish it was a lil' easier

forgot to add, you may make yourself feel a lot better if the board is out of the case. that way the bending wont bother you too much

if it's a big hassle dont worry about it. but if you're putting a system together in the future, it's easier (imo) to install the ram/processor/heatsink/fan all before it's in the case.

Just be careful when you do it. It was also my first time doing it as well, and now i've been fine for 6 months or so. Don't worry about it, just don't press full strength if you're hercules.

Make sure the notch in the memory lines up with the notches on the dimm slots! A while back a member posted the same problem and posted pics. In the pic you could see that he inserted the memory module backwards.

aahahhahah yeah was that the guy that had the fried ram? like literally had scorch marks on the sticks? had forgotten about him
