Has anyone here bought the Lian-Li PC-60 USB B case at newegg.com? How quiet are all 4 fans at full speed?

I am wondering how quiet all 4 fans are at full speed, how cool it keeps your case temp, how cool it keeps your cpu temp (Plus what cpu do you have?), and is it worth the money for a cool (As in temp.) and quiet case? Also how good does the filter keep the inside of the case clean and how is the noise difference and temperature difference from the whole case when the two front fans are on low, medium and high?

hmmm. so do you want to hear only from those that have purchased Lian Li's from Newegg??

I have a Lian Li 67, identical to the 60 except it has that black and grey on the face plate.

i have 4 fans and an 80 mm zalman fan cooling my SLK800 . it's a pretty quiet solution. before i got this SLK i used to run an alpha pal 6035 and it was reasonably quiet but the fan was loud enough to drown out the sound of my HD's. now i can hear the HD's strange thing too.

I bought this exact case from newegg.com. I use an Arkua 8568 HSF, and with all the fans running the system is pretty quiet. It's certainly not silent, but it's the quietest system I've used recently.

I have the PC-65 which is just the PC-60 with a Window. Although I have no been able to use it much it is quiet silent, the L M and H settings didn't make a big difference, maybe a few dBAs lower, not much.

You can buy 3 pin fans to replace the front two if you want to put quieter ones in, as the PCB which controls the fan speed has 2x3pin fan headers

AMB i know. But what dBa are the ones that are included with the Lian-Li Cases like the ones at newegg.com?

I have the PC-68, purchased about a year ago - the fans are Adda's, rated at 31.4 CFM, 28.3 dBA. AFAIK, they haven't changed the fan - at least, Adda doesn't list any fans that have the proper specs to replace mine on their site. Like others have said, they're quiet, but not the quietest you could get. I always ran mine on Medium, except in summer heat waves, since I found the high setting did little for cooling and was noticeably noisier. Recently, I took them all out and replaced them with Vantec Stealths (27 CFM, 21 dBA), which were just a bit quieter at full speed, and then ran those from a fanbus to reduce the speed to about 70%, which is fine for my system.

If you're starting from scratch and are concerned about noise, I'd recommend sticking with the Adda's, but using a fanbus to slow them down when not absolutely necessary - the Vantecs I bought were not worth the price for the small noise reduction. The airflow in the LL's is awesome, so unless you're seriously overclocking, the three case fans plus PSU fan should handle the heat just fine.

Its an ADDA AD0812LB-A76GL, cant find the exact model online but this helps to explain what it is:

Specifications, and also at AD8025 Series, it shows the noise for the various fans in the model range.

I have an older PC60, without the USB and all that. What do you mean by 4 fans? Does the newer one have two fans in the back, or are you counting the PSU fan?

I have the stock fans in mine, ADDA... there is a huge difference between L, M, and H. With a Panaflo M1a on my Alpha 8045, my whole case makes very little noise. Sounds like it's quieter than the central air conditioning (from my chair).

If your quest is a "quiet PC", you will be disappointed with the fans included in the case.

They may not even be necessary! Many people say that just one exhaust fan is enough for most people.

I was surprised how loud these fans were and eventually turned all of them off.

I have a Zantac "flower" cooler (20 db) and a quiet power supply now and my PC is nice and quiet. If necessary, I will replace the rear exhaust fan with a Zantac fan.

Good luck!

I have the PC60 USB model with the ADDA fans. It is not what I would consider to be "quiet" (even when switched to low), but it is not so noisy as to be distracting.

I assume that if you are looking at getting an aluminum case then you are worried about temps which might mean that you are an OC'er.

If that is the case, then this is a a good way to start addressing the temperature issues inherent with OC'ing. The case itself will aid marginally in reducing temps (ie. aluminum dissapating the ambient heat) and the stock fans are of good quality to keep the air moving and the placement of the front fans will pass the airflow directly over your HDD's which is nice. The speed settings make little to no difference in sound change (to my ears anyway)Also the filters will help reduce the nasty dust buildup.

The more practical benefits of the case are:
1. Removeable motherboard tray. This is a Godsend!
2. Thumscrews, Thumbscrews, Thumbscrews!!!
3. Removeable HDD rack.
4. Rounded edges = no more case cuts on delicate skin.
5. Plenty of room to operate inside the case.
6. Lot's o' Bays
7. It looks very nice.

Hi ImTim,

My first Lian Li case (PC-10) had three ADDA fans - AD0812HS-GL70 (2 sleeved bearing). They were rated at 3,000rpm and 38.6 cfm at 34dBa. The two front fans on high I could hear, but it was not bothersome. The current case I have (Lian Li PC-65B) has the four fans you mention, two front, one back and one blow hole. All of these fans are the medium speed AD0812MB-GL70 (2 ball bearing). They are rated at 2,440rpm and 31.4cfm at 28.3dBa. With all of them on high there is no noticeable noise increase. It depends a lot on what you're needs and experience are. BTW - these numbers are taken from the ADDA web site .pdf file. As for case, MB and cpu temps. I've modded my case and added a fifth fan in the rear. The two rear fans and blow hole fans are now Enermax 80mm controlled type. They are run at about half speed each. Since my power supply has dual fans, I wanted to balance the total air flow into and out if the case. My case temps run about a 0.5degF below room temps. Currently I have 63.2degF in the room and 62.8degF in the case. My Mb is showing 66degF and the cpu is at 91degF. I used mother board monitor 5 for this monitoring. The case temp and room temp are recorded by two Acurite temperature probes and digital face. When taken out of the case, both temps read the same. As for my cpu, heatsink and MB. I have an XP2000+ with a SLK-800 and Vantec Tornado 84cfm (80x80x38) mounted on it. All of this is working with an Asus A7V266-E MB. The Tornado was way to loud at full rpm (about 5,800), so I added a control pot to it, and currently run the fan just below audible level (about 4,500 rpm). As for the filter and dust. I find the filter works well, but dust will still find it's way in. I've also found that running the exhaust fans on high (3 plus psu) and only two inlet fans, does attract more dust. Since you can't pull a vacuum in the case. That's why I opted for a balanced air flow and found that it works real well for dust and noise control.

I hope all of this helped,
