Has anyone lived in a rooming house before?

Lately I've been having a lot of fights with my dad and I feel like I need to get out once and for all, hell, I'm 22, I've been at home long enough. I haven't been a bum because I paid rent and did a lot of maintainence around the house. Anyhow, I've been checking the newspapers for rooms for rent, as I can't afford an apartment (yet) as I only work part-time, although I'm actively searching for a full-time job.

Anyhow, I was just wondering if any of you guys lived in a place like this, and how was it? Thanks.

one of my freinds at school did this for awhile.. they never had any complaints about it-- although as soon as they could afford to get an apartment, they moved out.

"They" is plural, "one" is singular. Just say "he" or "she", as "they" is confusing.

One of my freinds at school did this fora w hile, He never had any complaints about it-- although, as soon as he could afford to move out and get his own apartment, he did.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I have two friends who also want to move out, but they can't afford to (yet) either. That's why I'm hoping I can swing paying $485 a month or so for the room, it seems kinda weird just having a bedroom, sharing a living room/kitchen/bathroom ya know. Oh well, this will only be a for a couple months.
