I live in Beverly Hills and intend to be in the top 10%, not because i can hold on to my tax money but because i am competent and can succeed in this environment created by our civilization. I'm willing to pay for that. Those who are against taxing the wealthy i consider to be weak and lazy trying to hold on to some small portion of their wealth for personal gain OR they are weak and lazy and not wealthy but through some dim witted scheme plan on joining their ranks and defend the top 10% rights.

This in fact is the biggest hoodwink of them all. Show people the wealth that they don't have in a way that they think they can achieve it. This will placate them while the rich get richer.

No nylons for your wives? I know a 1st generation family in Philadelphia that have made more sacrifice and have more "american" in their little finger then any of you can ever imagine. And yet you whine about pittance. If you are so successful then make more money but don't think for one minute that you are entitled to spend your children's money and not pay anything yourself.

Wow. A true believer. In fact, there's overwhelming evidence that tax cuts do NOT pay for themselves. The taxes lost because of lower rates are NEVER made up. That was true under Reagan and it's true on GWB.

Taxes were cut from incomes 10,300/yr to multimillionaire. Check.
Income increased to the federal government. Check.

Even assuming your citation is correct, all you've done is shown that a COMPONENT of income tax revenue increased. But you seem to think that if, say, income taxes on capital gains increase, say, by $50 billion but TOTAL taxes on income (including capital gains) DECREASES by $200 billion, that shows tax revenues went up?

Nobody cares where the tax revenue came from. If we lowered Income Taxes by 1 Billion but our revenue increased from the Elmer Fudd Tax by 2 Billion, the net tax revenue to the government is still +1B.

But our TOTAL income tax revenue DECREASED. Why can't you fools get that through your heads?

As to the capital gains "increase," try looking at this little chart, which show that capital gains have DECREASED 15% in constant dollars:

19 guys with box cutters killed 3000 people. They didn't just come up with this idea over night, it took years of training and planning to make this happen. The people in charge of the planning would still be out there planning another attack if we hadn't done such a good job tracking them down.

You have to understand that so many people give credit to people who dont deserve it. For example, posters in here have accused the GOP of price fixing oil. Some posters actually believe the hatred of Saddaam STARTED with Bush. Some people believe we are economically very very close to the great depression of the 1930's. And on and on and on.
