Points for some honesty.

It hasn't 'done nothing'. Google on 'stimulus prevented depression' and 'basic theory of Keynes'.

The issue isn't that it has 'done nothing'. The issue is that the underlying problems have not been addressed, so it's a temporary measure overextending the government leaving us at great risk.

Craig - Keynes economics is dead. It doesn't work and no amount of explaining why it does by former Enron advisor Paul Krugman will change that fact. Governments are incapable of saving money during good times in order to spend it during bad times. Government is a beast that will spend as much money it possibly can no matter how the economy is.

Yes he signed the light bulb executive order. The incandescent bulbs will no longer be available to purchase after 2011. Great for saving energy and the environment to buy the florescent spiral bulbs that COST MORE!

Here's my understanding. Half of the incandescent bulbs are made in NA. No florescent spiral bulbs are made in NA. BUT, the florescent spiral bulbs contain all kinds of crap in them that will put toxic metals and chemicals in our waters and bodies when they are tossed out or broken releasing the junk inside. errrrrrrr!

Oh sure, the florescent spiral bulbs will save energy and a few Nuke plants and Coal plants will not need to be built nor the existing ones working harder. BUT at what other trade off then? ... Dead fish, more mercury, more lead, more people with cancer ???

The law also says LEDs are another resource to replace the incandescent bulbs. LEDs are 10x the cost of the florescent spiral bulbs !!!

I'm all for T. Edison who invented the original incandescent bulb. It brightened the world.
