Trump posted this photoshopped picture of his son with the caption indicating his son will debate Joe Biden. Has Trump now opened up his son to public scrutiny/attack? Considering what the likes of MTG did to David Hogg and how the Republicans openly criticized Obamas girls while he was in office it would seem fair to me. While I wouldn't do it Trump has put his son in play.

It's just their way of excusing and ignoring their treachery, their cheating hearts, their insurrection, their gerrymandering, their attempted coup and every other act of malevolence that resulted in having so many of their corrupted officials indicted and convicted of crimes against The People of the nation. In their echo chamber all of those numerous acts of treason and criminality never happened or is excusable for some inane reason or another because they were conditioned to believe the Democrats are somehow infinitely worse.

People frequently confuse what makes them feel good emotionally with good campaign strategy. I know it would turn me off if someone did that - I am certain I'm not alone.

I'm going to say attacking someone's underage kids falls squarely within the 'feels good, dumb idea' category. What will immediately happen after that is that the right will find every fainting couch in the western hemisphere to faint over and then Trump and Republicans will have reporters falling all over themselves to prove how fair minded they are by condemning Democrats for their uncouth ways.

Remember when someone politely asked Sarah Huckabee Sanders to leave their restaurant and we had an extended national discussion on civility in politics? And that was complete bullshit! Imagine what conservatives would do if they actually had a point.

Biden has gone high yet his approval is lower than Trump. I can't explain it. I'm not saying Dems should attack Barron directly, but it seems reasonable the rules for press have now been changed when it comes to Barron also taking into account Republicans history in attacking kids.

As far as approval levels...we are a society of ignorant conspiracy junkies addicted to social media so I wouldn't look for logic in those. Maybe being as gross a human as you can be will win elections, I have no idea. GOP voters seem to support their politicians more when people are attacked for a variety of reasons, for example Trump attacking Mexicans, disabled people, women, etc, so clearly some voters are good with it and actually want it.
Now, specifically on attacking children, maybe not.

See - this is a far better idea. You don't attack Barron because attacking kids is gross and will undermine Biden's support.

Something of this sort though indirectly 'praises' Barron while turning it back on Trump.

If Biden uses my or @Pens1566 response it will be attacking Trump with son as a foil. It would be a humorous clever attack. It will also show the Dem base Biden is willing to hit back. People do like fighters and Dems fall short on that front.
