It is pretty well known if you don't buy a bike with parts manufactured in Mexico, Japan, China, Australia, and Italy then assembled in America, you are a communist.

The cynic in me wants to say "Harley Fags aren't smart enough to tell the difference!". The realist in me simply thinks that people don't have the same motorcycle biases anymore - a rider is a rider, enemy of my enemy ("cagers") is my friend type situation.

Then again, this probably varies rather significantly based on geographical location, for a plethora of reasons.

SD has some of the worst Harley riders Ive ever seen. Almost all of them have black leather jackets or vests with skulls on them of some sort with obnoxiously loud straight pipes. There's some fuckshit who likes to ride past my highrise at odd hours of the night full throttle.

Hell just last week I saw a dude weaving in and out of traffic screaming at people if they didn't let him through...at 5:00 PM on a weekday. Looked like a deathwish.

Just about everyone waves to each other up to about 7AM. Harleys included.

A friend of mine had one of those in the early '80's, he had a few mods done to it, Bassani pipes and re-jetted the carb, that thing was fast as hell, not much on the bottom end of course (2-stroke) but if you kept it in it's sweet spot that bike would stomp bikes of much bigger displacement with ease. First time he let me ride it I shifted into second and popped an unexpected massive wheelie!..

Oh I've ridden them too.

Might get a new Spyder. Might get a BMW R 1200 GS... Might just keep current spyder and buy a sportster.

Everyone NOT in a cage is assuming the same risk and a "brother" in my book. What your ride is an expression of who you are, but we are all motorcyclists at heart.

That's a very cool machine, and a great looking bike.

Way back in the day I had a Kawasaki 500. At the time, it was the fastest 1/4 mile production bike made, think it would turn an astonishing 12 seconds flat. Those were good times.
