Just curious.

Purchased the board and chip in January.

Got the email March 1st that they will be doing the replacement in store.

I see them selling my Asus P67 Board B3 Revision, but have not received
any correspondence as stated in their March 1st email to bring my board
back for replacement.

Anyone have any better luck?

REPOST

A few people here have posted that they just brought them back to the store and got their replacement.

I got mine about a week ago. I had a P8P67 and they let me exchange it for a Sabertooth P67 (plus price difference of course).

Don't you have to go to the store with the defective board and call the police when you arrive?

Had mine replaced on Saturday. Make sure they have it in stock, reserve it like you will buy it. Then go to pick it up they will swap it out. No problems. Brought back just my Asus P8P67 Pro in the anti-static bag. Kept the old box and components.

Seriously they let you do that?

Did online stock match what was in-store? I'd actually like to trade up my wife's P8P67 for a P8P67 Pro, but the Pro isn't listed.

They replaced my p8p67 deluxe last week no questions asked, they didn't even look inside the box and they insisted on replacing the CPU as well. I was a very very pleased customer!

I bought mine on Thursday. Got it home swapped it out, made sure everything worked, and returned the Pre-B3 board on Saturday, no questions asked.

I did a similar replacement. Bought a new board 3 weeks ago with the $25 off coupon that was floating around, swapped out the old one and made sure all was well before returning the old board for a full refund. CSR tried to give me a hard time at first with the return, but I got my refund.

Just got an email from MC stating we have until May 15th to return our board for a MC giftcard.

My concern is that for people that bought the board as part of the combo, the price is very low on the receipt. My receipt shows 180 for the 2500k and 120 for the motherboard.

Am I only going to get a $120 giftcard that is good toward the purchase of any now FULL price boards, even the same exact model (which lists as 160, ASUS P8P67-R3 )? If thats the case I guess I might as well go through Asus. Otherwise I would have actually paid extra and moved up a model.

If it's any consolation, newegg hasn't done a replacement for me yet either. They've been selling the replacement board for a bit now, but every time I try to contact a CSR I am told they don't have a replacement yet for my board in stock. Yet I see it for sale every day now.

I'm concerned about that as well as what boards they actually have. I wouldn't mind paying the difference to upgrade to the Pro model (I got vanilla) but if #1 they only credit me $120 and #2 they don't have the Pro (email said "all makes/models now available) then I will have wasted my 140 mile round trip.

Call up or order online. If it doesn't show in stock, they likely will not have it. Don't make that trip until its locked in. You have plenty of time.

They will credit you until May 15, no problem. I did exactly that and they were willing to give me whatever board in stock, plus or minus the price difference. I was even able to trade the 2500k for a 2600k, which is what I initially wanted but they did not have stock of back in January.

Yes. Just bag and board. I now have two boxes and accessory sets. They RMA these boards back to ASUS, so they don't need the other stuff. That's what I was told.

I just checked the MC store stock, "purchased" the same board so it was held and then picked it up and never had my CC charged.

I wanted to change my P8P67 (which I paid the same price as you, $120) to the Sabertooth. I went and talked to the manager in the parts area and explained that I would like the same $40 discount since I bought a cpu/mobo bundle in January and they were able to honor the price. I was able to get the Sabertooth for $180. I was very cordial through the whole process and they were great about it. This was the one in Detroit.

I only want the Pro, but the Sabertooth looks hawt!

Well, if I end up with the SAME board, I may as well have Asus cross-ship me one. I checked on the web site and the Micro Center I would be going to has plenty of the same board, and one Deluxe, but no Pro or Sabertooth.

Still, going there is an excuse to buy another CPU. Hmmm...

My Sandy Bridge recall customer service experience from the MC in Fairfax VA has been excellent. Exchanged for an Asus p8p67 B3 vanilla mobo yesterday with no hassles except for the obligatory extended warranty pitch.

Didn't inquire on pricing info for upgrading the mobo and exchanging/upgrading the CPU, but they were offering to do both if I wanted. Looked like they had plenty of the Asus boards too.

Heh. Your might have benefited from the "education" I gave them last week at that particular store. The kid at customer service initially was clueless and I had to do the "if you're guessing, perhaps we should talk to a manager". Which in turn brought over the clueless assistant manager.

He stated, get this, that MC would charge me a restocking fee for the return since I didn't have the original packaging. I "strongly suggested" he contact Corporate given that Intel was footing the bill. I was polite, but firm.

All's well that ends well. I have my new P8P67 Deluxe and I am very happy.

They don't have my board in stock yet (Asus P8P67M Pro). I'm going on vacation for the first 2 weeks of May, so I'm not sure what's going to happen if they don't get my board in stock.... I might have to do a swap directly with Asus, but I prefer not to...

Is May 15th the last day you can exchange a board? Or do you get some kind of extra bonus for bringing it in before the 15th?

Unfortunately, I can see this happening. I brought the board back in the box with the receipt.

The sales kid at the return desk was not aware of the mobo recall and neither were the sales people in the computer parts section for that matter. It wasn't until they scanned my receipt and looked into their computer that they started to list off my exchange options.

For those that haven’t returned their mobo yet, I suggest bringing a copy of the email they sent out just in case.

Pretty strange as this has been known for at least 2 months now. As for the E-Mail MC sent, it would be a good idea to bring it now that I heard of this.

Question for those more familiar with Micro Center. Is it possible to do the motherboard exchange at a DIFFERENT Micro Center than the one I made the purchase at? The reason is due to motherboard availability.

Alright, did the deed.

I had an opportunity to go to the Chicago area for another reason, so decided to hit up Micro Center.

I first phoned them, and they told me returning to a different store was fine.

I ordered for in-store pickup, just to make sure the board I wanted was there (showed only 4 left or something like that). I had a P8P67, wanted to pay the difference for a P8P67 Pro.

The guy that helped me at the returns counter didn't quite know what to do for my request (he wanted to just refund me the $119.99 it showed as the after-combo-discount price on my receipt). I insisted that I wanted the Pro board and I should only have to pay the $30 difference (plus tax). He had to make two phone calls and someone came over to help (wasn't very helpful because he thought it was regarding a combo purchase, not a return/exchange). Probably took about 15 minutes for him to figure it out.

Got the board already installed. Windows 7 needed to activate, but did so online with no problems. Had to install NIC drivers from the CD and Windows detected everything else.

I took my P8P67 back to the Michigan store today. I just wanted to exchange it for the same model. I put it in the ant static bag and then into the original box with only the manual and cd. The girl at the returns desk said they would take all the accessories out of my replacement since I returned none of them. She also wanted to charge me the difference since I paid $119 for the combo. I politely said "No, it's an even exchange." She needed a manager to do it but he knew what he was doing and I had no other problems.

Since I had the board out, I bought the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus and it had a $7 rebate. It installed easily and it maxed out at 43 C running Intel Burn Test.

As you found out, you can return any MicroCenter purchased item at any other MicroCenter......as long as there is a 24 hour delay between the purchase and return so the purchase is updated across the MicroCenter network. Otherwise, done earlier and only the one you purchased the item in has any record of the purchase.
