Used the 50% off coupon (which is only for pizza) a couple of days ago, and got 2 large Pepperoni Lover's on hand tossed crust (with pretzel finish) with no sauce for under $18, and they were good. With some of the packets of pepper to add a bit more spice.
Obviously not something you should be eating too often, but satisfies the unhealthy junk food pizza craving.
Went to PizzaHut tonight. I bet it's the first time in 15 years. I got the $10 meal deal(a square pizza, breadsticks, and cinnamon sticks). It's alright. I kind of wanted the old thin crust pizza, but I didn't see it. Maybe I didn't look hard enough. I'll go back some time, but I'm in no hurry.
Nooo, don't get the square pizza! They do have thin crust, its not bad but I think hand tossed is the best crust to get at Pizza Hut.
I do like their cinnamon sticks. I actually hate pretty much all of their other desserts (they had a big cookie/brownie things kinda like a "cookie cake" and it was awful, and I tried their brownie and thought it was terrible as well. They had some other awful dessert things. The cinnamon sticks are the way to go (and I actually like they give the icing as dip so if you don't want it).
They've changed up their sides quite a bit as well (they have fries now?). I know some like their pastas (although I think they're expensive; also I fucking hated their stupid ass commercials "the mac 'n cheese and bacon, its soooo decadent"...).
My local Pizza Hut is garbage, but the one by grammas house is excellent. There is clearly a difference in quality of ingredients and some owners decide to spend a little more for better raw materials.
At least they're consistent. The individual places where I used to live varied so much that it was a total crapshoot, sometimes it'd be good, sometimes it'd be crap (super greasy, excessive amounts of sauce, huge gaps where they didn't put toppings up to the edge of the crust), and sometimes it would be flat out wrong (had one that gave us the wrong order multiple times).
The ones around here seem to be pretty decent. Well there's one that are dicks (don't take online coupons, although I'm not sure what would happen if you ordered it via online, but calling the order in they outright refused to accept any of the deals listed on Pizza Hut website).
I doubt it.
At the very least their dairy products are probably not shipped across the country.
I think Pizza Hut actually has pretty tight control over the ingredients. I seem to recall that they actually make the individual franchises buy the ingredients from them. Might have them confused with some other place, but thought I remember an article about that. And maybe that's why they went down (I remember people saying Pizza Hut used to be great in the 90s, but they were also quite a bit more expensive).
Why would they need to ship it across the country? As a domestic franchisee why wouldn't they have local distribution centers like every other franchiser?
or a weekly sysco truck.
jw.
I'm fairly sure they do. Maybe there's some exceptions, but I think the variability just comes down to how well managed or even the person putting it together.
