You gotta eat the good shit. When you're in NYC, go to Prince St and get one of these bad boys.

Looks like a slice that was sitting under a heat lamp for an hour or two. The only way you can buy/eat slices of pizza, no matter how good it is, is when it comes out of the oven, is sliced and being consumed within about five minutes. After that, it's a dog turd. Until the next morning, having set out on the counter overnight, then it's delicious again.

Nope, tastes like magic.

They're the only chain I know of with stuffed crust pizza, so that gets them a ton of points. No delivery in my area though.

Stuffed crust is the bomb tho.

FYI if you ever want to make it, it's just string cheese with the crust wrapped back over it

Used the 50% off coupon (which is only for pizza) a couple of days ago, and got 2 large Pepperoni Lover's on hand tossed crust (with pretzel finish) with no sauce for under $18, and they were good. With some of the packets of pepper to add a bit more spice.

Obviously not something you should be eating too often, but satisfies the unhealthy junk food pizza craving.

Went to PizzaHut tonight. I bet it's the first time in 15 years. I got the $10 meal deal(a square pizza, breadsticks, and cinnamon sticks). It's alright. I kind of wanted the old thin crust pizza, but I didn't see it. Maybe I didn't look hard enough. I'll go back some time, but I'm in no hurry.

Nooo, don't get the square pizza! They do have thin crust, its not bad but I think hand tossed is the best crust to get at Pizza Hut.

I do like their cinnamon sticks. I actually hate pretty much all of their other desserts (they had a big cookie/brownie things kinda like a "cookie cake" and it was awful, and I tried their brownie and thought it was terrible as well. They had some other awful dessert things. The cinnamon sticks are the way to go (and I actually like they give the icing as dip so if you don't want it).

They've changed up their sides quite a bit as well (they have fries now?). I know some like their pastas (although I think they're expensive; also I fucking hated their stupid ass commercials "the mac 'n cheese and bacon, its soooo decadent"...).

My local Pizza Hut is garbage, but the one by grammas house is excellent. There is clearly a difference in quality of ingredients and some owners decide to spend a little more for better raw materials.

At least they're consistent. The individual places where I used to live varied so much that it was a total crapshoot, sometimes it'd be good, sometimes it'd be crap (super greasy, excessive amounts of sauce, huge gaps where they didn't put toppings up to the edge of the crust), and sometimes it would be flat out wrong (had one that gave us the wrong order multiple times).

The ones around here seem to be pretty decent. Well there's one that are dicks (don't take online coupons, although I'm not sure what would happen if you ordered it via online, but calling the order in they outright refused to accept any of the deals listed on Pizza Hut website).

I doubt it.
At the very least their dairy products are probably not shipped across the country.

I think Pizza Hut actually has pretty tight control over the ingredients. I seem to recall that they actually make the individual franchises buy the ingredients from them. Might have them confused with some other place, but thought I remember an article about that. And maybe that's why they went down (I remember people saying Pizza Hut used to be great in the 90s, but they were also quite a bit more expensive).

Why would they need to ship it across the country? As a domestic franchisee why wouldn't they have local distribution centers like every other franchiser?

or a weekly sysco truck.

jw.

I'm fairly sure they do. Maybe there's some exceptions, but I think the variability just comes down to how well managed or even the person putting it together.

Try it out, and if they try to refuse the deal, then report them to corporate, and then take them to small claims court.

The 90s is when I used to eat Pizza Hut the most. They were amazing. Now I mostly order from local pizza restaurants.

I as well. I remember getting a free personal pan pizza from the "Book It!" promotion going on in my school at the time. I even got a nice big button out of the deal.

Ahhhh I remember that! I think the only reason I can read today is because of free personal pizzas

What's amazing to me is pizza prices haven't changed in over 30 years. It's reflected in the quality of the ingredients.
I'm pretty sure this has happened to all fast food. I swear Burger King, Wendy's and McDonalds used to taste way better just 15-20 years ago.

Wendy's product still holds up. But yeah, decline all around.

Their chicken is really good, but their burgers just have this weird taste and texture I can't get past.

Wendys is still better than McDonalds, Burger King, and Arbys, but it has still definately declined from what it used to be 15 years ago, other than maybe some of the other stuff like the natural cut fries.

I agree. I will only eat the spicy chicken sandwich there now. I used to really like their burgers too but once they changed them to be perfect squares they are no longer good, just super greasy.

Yup Wendy's is crazy greasy, I don't like their burgers at all but I really like their Spicy Chicken. Obviously doesn't compare to Chic-fil-a but there aren't many of those around.

I used to love Wendy's burgers back in the 80s and 90s. But it's really average now. Two Wendy's near me have closed. Chick-fil-sandwich haven't changed much since the 80s. In the old days, you had to go to the mall food court or to the Dwarf House to eat Chick-fil-a. Now they're everywhere. You can't drive couple miles without spotting Chick-fil-a in Atlanta. The drive through is busy from morning til night. I've never seen or heard any Chick-fil-a location that failed. Really amazing company,

A wise person on this forum once told me how to pre-screen pizza joints. The criteria was, "Do they bake the pizzas in a real pizza oven or use a chain drive pass through oven?" If the latter, skip it. This has been the best advice ever concerning pizza joints. Pizza Hut is in the "skip it" category.
