I don't. I would be stupid to think otherwise. You said all, I did not. Again, I ask you where, besides the media spin does it say that *THIS* accident was caused by the defect?

You think all the people that have died so far were not because of defective Toyotas but because of media spin? Because you make the same statement about all the accidents.

Toyota has already admitted to wrong doing on several models for several issues including brakes, sticking gas pedals, floor mats, etc.

But thats all media spin, right?

Seems like the majority of the defective vehicles were made in Kentuckey and Texas with Toyota 'Spec' parts from Indiana.
Not seeing the trend to implicate Japan or other assembly plants into this defect.

Nope - I tried buying a car from Toyota about 7 years ago. I walked onto the lot and started looking around at the Matrix cars - not one salesman wanted to help because I wasn't looking at the more expensive Toyota's. So..I walked across the street and bought a Subaru WRX instead

Karma that this is happening to those greedy sons of bitches.

They definitely are not the same quality they use to be, still very reliable cars and trucks. Though I hate how most of them handle with the exception of the matrix my mom drives.

Fuji Heavy Industries, the parent company of Subaru, is currently in a partial partnership with Toyota Motor Corporation, which owns 16.5% of FHI.

Anyways, this is all Toyota's fault. Not the sticky gas pedals or not working brakes, but turning driving into something that is incredibly easy. They made it so that when something goes wrong the driver has no idea what to do.

Nah, the driver made it so they had no idea what to do. Neutral, push and hold brakes, ignition off all are valid ways to deal with the issue even on non-toyotas. "RTFM" has a ton to do with it also.

I thought they were mediocre and shitty to begin with so I guess I was vindicated

They were excellent and some of the best to begin with and then they started down the shitty road of capitalistic greed.

I would probably never buy a toyota. Has nothing to do with whether or not it's a good product. I just rather buy something actually built in this continent. Ex: Ford, GM, Chrysler. Since my dad works for GM it would be logical for me to buy from him. That and I pretty much get it at the lowest possible price he can offer.

Are you acting dumb or just trolling? Nearly all of these "shitty" Toyotas are made here in the US.

That's probably part of the reason why they've become so shitty.

Or, you can buy your Mexican made Ford Fusions.

Huzzah!

Here's to hoping the new Celica and Supra are made in Japan. And that the FJ Cruiser (made in Japan) does not get discontinued. And that Lexus continues making all of their cars in Japan.

Yup, the 90's camrys were tanks, everything after that was shit. Anyone who says a modern toyota interior is nice has their head screwed on backwards

Now who is trolling? It is likely the cause of Toyota's problems are from designs and specifications for designs originating in Japan.

We all know US makes the shittiest cars - it's just logical inference that making Toyotas here has contributed to its decline.

Audi seems to have somehow kept their reputation, I'm sure Toyota will, too.

True. Audis basically suck ass though.

If there was ever a single mass manufacturer that made basically ONE single model, that would be Audi. Their cars all have identical freaking everything, from front mascara LEDs to now, even rear tail lights. You might as well call it the Audi Car, comes in the following flavors: small - A4, Hatch A3, Medium A6, Wagon A6, soon to be redesigned - large A8, Coupe A5) - Stick in a bigger engine, call it an "S" instead, stick in an even bigger engine, let's call it an "RS". Yawn (R8 notwithstanding).

Who the F wants to buy an expensive ass A6 to look like they're driving a stretched A4?

Even their well done designs like the S5 leave a lot to be desired.

Then there's their owner, Folk's Wagon - better known as overpriced underpowered and conceited V-Dub. If there was ever a great irony in the history of car making, it's the VW, designed to be a poor-man's mass produced vehicle in Germany- is now marketing itself as upscale and sophisticated.

For a European auto fan, if you want something actually nice, get a Mercedes. Something sporty, a BMW. Something uncompromisingly driver oriented - a Porsche. Something unpretentious and safe, a Volvo. Something exotic, pick an Italian maker.

Going to church, driving an Avalon, likely all fairly old and got hypothermic from the immersion. Few hospitals deal well with hypothermia, much less the ones they were likely sent to.

The water temp in Texas never gets cold enough to trigger the cold water drowning scenario though... So the water was just cold enough to kill old people

the brother of a friend of mine got hypothermia trying to save a drowning kid in lake travis, just outside of austin.

there were so few audis on the road back then that there wasn't much reputation to begin with, that reputation was destroyed, and it was over a decade until audi hit any volume again.

read a blurb in this morning's paper that honda has taken over as #1 volume brand, with toyota in second and ford close behind.

Audi had one old bat hit the wrong pedal and drive through a garage door. And that killed sales for the better part of a decade even though the NHTSA fully exonerated them.

Nope, I always wondered WTF people were so stupid over a specific car brand for in the first place...

I think everyone's freaking out because Toyota fans had an unrealistic expectation of the quality and couldn't concieve of poor quality control by Toyota, gasp...

I've owned a couple and didn't see any legendary build quality, matter of fact, I thought they were pretty poorly engineered and executed for the reputation they had.
This is exactly my opinion...
