Haswell build problems...

Hello,

Hope I am posting this in the right place.

Just putting together a simple build, but am having problems.

The Motherboard (MSI H81M-E33 V2), CPU (G3220) and power supply (CX430) are brand new.

Essentially, when I start it up, the CPU fan spins for a few seconds and then nothing.

I have tried without any components connected and have tried a couple of different power supplies, one of them brand new.

Does this sound like a bad motherboard?

I am pretty sure I am seating the Power SW and Reset SW correctly as per the mobo manual.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Do you have RAM installed?

I have tried with and without Ram.

(G. Skill Ripjaws 1866 2X4g)

by msi support list.the max ram speed is 1600.by the way what is all the system spec

The CPU fan must be connected the one designated "CPU fan header". Otherwise, the system's sensor will detect a fault and shut down the power, in order to prevent CPU heat damage.

before you try to return the motherboard, try taking out the small battery on mobo, powering on/off and put battery back in

Did you remember to insert the 12V 4/8 pins (besides the 24-pin)? If yes, and you have tried everything else...well, I had MSI boards (two of them) that acted that way and the sad story was, both were dead. The power distribution section of the board went "poof!" It was history afterward.

Thanks all. Got it sorted. The atx12v wasn't seated properly. Working now
