if anyone owns this card, could you please let me know if you can record your game play footage in the same pc?

I know there are programs such as FRAPS, but fraps kills frame rates

from what I have seen on the wonderful internet so far, it seems like windows will just see the Colossus as another screen. if that's the case, I would just have to duplicate the screens.

that video is based on the older Hauppauge HD PVR, external unit without HDMI, but the concept should be the same... I think...

Ahh, that's a good point. In which case you'll want to be sure that the Colossus will accept 1080p. I know it records 1080i, but I'm not sure if it requires a matching signal. If it doesn't accept 1080p, then you'll run into problems with your plan.

but can record 720P just fine.

my nvidia gtx 470 would not detect the colossus, but the amd hd 5770 detected it just fine.

thats pretty kick ass. could have used this years ago honestly. i wonder why the nvidia card doesnt work with it

Not sure if anyone cares, but maybe good info for people googling?
but I used a DVI to HDMI cable for final functionality testing before I sold the card, and my GTX 470 detected it just fine.

Also the Colossus can indeed record in 1080P, but the catch is only on desktop and in directX 9 mode.

Ah, OK. If you just wanted to record PC games, why don't you just use FRAPs? No extra hardware required.

1 minute video takes up 10-20 MB instead of 2+GB?

That'd be great, but according to your earlier posts the big catch is that it doesn't actually work.
