Hauppauge PVR-150 no display

I have an older Hauppauge PVR-150 analog tuner card. I bought it new years ago. Anyway, I stuck it in a Win7 pc because I wanted to use it to record some tv shows. I installed the drivers (everything looks good in device mgr.) but when I hook up the cable (Time Warner) and do a scan for channels it doesn't find any.

I would expect something to be found. I know it'll only find clear qam channels. Not sure why it isn't finding anything. I have an old tube type tv (~2003) and it pulls in channels 2-73 so I would expect to get the same channels found using the tuner card. Am I correct? The tv isn't hooked directly to a cable box/DVR.

Any help is appreciated. Maybe the card died sometime in the past? Worked fine the last time I used it but that was like 5 years ago.

ClearQAM channels are digital only. The likely problem is that the TW cable channels are all digital now so your analog tuner is now useless.

are you using win7 media center? did you set it to scan for qam channels?

thing is, you might not be able to get qam channels AND analog cable channels at the same time.

but i think if your tv is getting analog cable, so should your card... make sure you have media center scanning for cable channels... it might only work with qam or cable, not both.

I agree with wirednuts. If my tv (which is not digital) can receive the channels then the must be analog. I'm actually just looking to get the cable channels. I have an HDHomerun Dual that I'm grabbing all the local channels with. Just don't understand why it's not seeing anything.

No, I'm not using mediacenter as I'm using that with my HDhomerun dual and it looks like there's a conflict. I'm using Hauppauge's WinTV software.

Although channels 2-13 should be the same for either options, double check that is scanning cable frequencies (not OTA).

If I remember correctly there's an issue with the PVR-150 if you have more than 2GB of RAM installed in your system.
