Hmm i called up z-buy and the guy was kind of a dick. Although z-buys actual website seems to have some problems where I had none with cnetpc.com

Thanks OP! Even at $90 this is a good buy. This will go into my HTPC as the second PVR-250 card. No more scheduling conflicts...

Anyone know if the fm radio on this is stereo? Nothing on the page or at Hauppauge's site states it one way or the other.

If this is a TV-Go you can buy an ATI E-Home Wonder which uses the same chipset (for compatibliity with WinXP Media Center) for less.'

I don't know much about the MCE, but the PVR-250 retail is an outstanding card. I was ripping TV programs in winXP using a pretty old setup (1Ghz Athlon & 256 PC 133 ram) with no problems whatsoever. The onboard encoding (MPEG 2) is oustanding. Furthermore, the PVR-250 retail is strongly favored in the linux community for projects such as mythtv and freevo... both of which I would really reccomend if you want to go the route of a linux-based HTPC. Hopefully this PVR-250 MCE thing has the same chipsets and would use the same drivers as the original.

All in all, I'd highly reccomend taking a shot at this card. Worst-case, dump it on the forums or at Ebay. Best case, you've got one of the best TV tuner cards out there for about half the price.

Cheers folks,
Dav

Can you please change the $69.00 to the current $87.00 price in your Topic Title. Since it's gone up $18.00 in the last two days.

Thanks,

Redrain

Talk about quick! I placed my order Monday evening, I received the card today (weds)! (I'm in Calif).
Yes, it is a PVR250MCE. This looks brand new - there are NO marks on the edge connector gold fingers at all. I wonder how they test it?

Screaming deal when I got mine for $69 with free shipping. I wish I had bought two!

I'll be putting together either a Sage or a BTV system.

BTW, for those with this card - does it also hardware compress the audio?

Got mine (looks perfect) all the way from NJ.
I'm in NJ...took an extra day + 6% tax.

I ,too, am happy!

BTW, the FM tuner is indeed stereo!

Got my two cards today. I sold the second one that somehow ended up in my order on eBay very quickly with a BIN of $105. All in all, this deal worked out to a $33 card for me

Down to $81 shipped.

This card rocks. I'm using it to schedule recording of TV AND RADIO programs. No more missing my favorite radio program when I'm in class. Too bad there's no commercial skip option.

Y'know, considering that newegg still wants $138 + shipping for this (and is OOS apparently), picking it at the current $81 is still a damn good deal. True, you could have bought 2 at that price and still be cheaper than newegg, but...

Ordered one ... but I am not happy at the fact that my **FULL** CC number showed up in clear text in the order confirmation page. I like printing out the order confirmation page for all my orders, and I am not comfortable with my CC number showing up there.

Yes, I know I can blacken it out with a pen or something, but I would expect any professional order processing system to hide at least part of the CC number in the confirmation page.

Looks like the price reflects AT demand. Wait a few days and see if it falls closer to the original $69?

Can someone who purchased this verify that the card is using either of the following:
iTVC15 Conexant Chip - CX23415
iTVC16 Conexant Chip - CX23416

The iTVC16 chip is currently having some issues being recognized by the linux ivtv drivers (im using Mythtv) and you have to actually patch the code to resolve the issue. But it seems as if applying the current patch will not allow you to use more than one card capture card in the system. I am currently using a PVR 350 (it has an iTVC15 encoder) and it works great. Here is a little to a little info about the pvr cards and how to find out which chip its using Link
