Personally, I prefer warranties from the retailer vs. the manufacturer. It's easier to strong-arm the retailer. It's hard to threaten Happauge with a charge-back when they didn't sell you the card in the first place.

this is a little OT, but you guys are the audience I need

i want to put one of these cards in a sv25 shuttle using onboard video because i only have 1 pci slot AND i'm not aware of any aiw pci card with fm tuning.

then i want to install xp mce from msdn.. anyone see a problem with that from a hardware point of view??

the proc is a celeron 1.2 with 256mb ram pc133, 40gb 7200rpm hd

256 ram should be fine, im sure 512 wouldnt hurt, but i run 256 in my htpc and it is fine.

buy a cheapo video card like a gf2mx at least (gfx5200 seen at 45). if you are going to use it as htpc i know that some onboard video cards have sh*tty dvd performace.

I thought, based on what I've read here at AT, that they were supposed to ship today too. I ordered when the price was $81 and haven't heard anything from them since...

wtf? friday? i ordered before they put up that stupid backordered until 4/19 thing. they even sent me a confirmation saying it would be sent out the next day... and that was 4 weeks ago. im gonna email em and see if theyll throw in next day air shipping for free. never hurts to try.

I am in the same boat as Tsunami982. As if that wasn't bad enough, they don't even reply to my emails. This has to be one of the worst customer experiences I have had this year. If I didn't get my order in at $81, I wouldn't even bother.

UPDATE: AS of 10:00 a.m. EST, the MCE card is no longer listed on either z-buy or cnetpc. These people are driving me bonkers! If someone does manage to get some answers on what is going on please share it here. Thanks!

Gah that ticks me off... I just bought SageTV and the now I need the card.. Oh well, I suppose I was bound to get screwed. I am cancelling my order with z-buy.com, since PCAlchemy HAS the card in stock and seems to be pretty good with their customer service. I hate waiting, it's @#%@#ing irritating.

By the way PCAlchemy guys... try offering a combo with the JP1'd remotes, as I hate almost all the other remotes out there. If you do a google for the 6131 JP1'd Remote, you can read about what I'm talkin about. That, and USB-UIRT. A combo with that and sageTV too would be totally kickass. I wouldn't buy from anybody else

Just noticed that z-buy.com has what they are calling a WinTV-PVR-250MCE available for $89.

This card is a 28552 (Roslyn) card and will NOT work with Linux.

If you had a card from them on backorder the cards they were selling were 32552 (Amity) cards, be careful that you are getting what you paid for.

I got in when the price was $81 and got the FedEx shipping notification this morning.
