Have a 1900XT/XTX?

I got a 1900XT on Friday and beginning Saturday morning I started having issues with the card. I was getting strange multi-colored horizontal lines and the screen start flashing between a black screen and the desktop. After rebooting I got a "DVI no signal" on my 2405FPW.

I made a post about this on Rage3D and the discussion has turned to the possibility of power supplies being inadequate. A notice that came with the card says that it requires 30A on the 12V rail. My Seasonic S12 500W has 2 12V rails one supplying 16A and the other 17A. In order to rule out my PSU as the issue I'd like to know what PSUs people are successfully using with these cards, bonus if someone is using a Seasonic 500W .

So, what PSU are you using with your 1900XT/XTX?

I've been having problems with stability using a Forton Bluestorm 500W (2x15a rails) and a OCZ 520w Modstream (1x28a rail). I don't know if its PSU related, though. I doubt the cards take up THAT much juice, since I run a pretty bare system.

Seasonic S12-600 ran a single 1900XTX or X1900CF card, but not enough for real dual card CF.

So yes only supplying 15A to the PCIe connector is not enough. Bump up to the seasonic 600 that supply's 18 to each rail.

If you plan on going CF in the future then you will want to get an even beefier supply now. I went through 3 different 600 watt supply's for that, until I got the 680w from thermaltake, that actually supplies the full 38amps that ATI recommends for a 1900CF setup, to the 2 PCIe connectors. It has a total of 52amps on the 12v rails.

The S12-600 IS that PSU. (the only other one listed on their site is the SS-600HT Active PFC).

it depends on your setup. I have good air circulation inside my P180 case that's why it never kicks in.

Do you guys reckon this PSU will be sufficient to power SLI or Crossfire of cards like say the X1900 XTX or 7900 GTX?
