Have a talk radio fanatic in your family?

I've come to the sad realization that when my father dies, his favorite talk radio will be blaring in the room. and he'll likely be alone with the talk radio when he does pass away.

I had a job that involved lots of driving and would sometimes binge on talk radio. I'd listen to conservative, liberal, moderate, pubic access, BBC and anything else I could dial in. It was interesting to listen to the differing viewpoints and, once in a great while, I may have even learned something. Learned something besides people are crazy, I mean.

If you asked my wife about how I spend my time, she may complain about me wasting my day playing video games or reading history books that are not useful.

If your father loves talk radio, and he can enjoy it, then good for him. Most people love something that does not make sense to others, as long as they are not hurting anyone I would not worry about it.

NPR is just about the only radio I listen too, but I sometimes play the classical station. Otherwise, I listen to music I own.

If any of you are into talk radio, I seriously recommend David Foster Wallace's Consider The Lobster. Best essay book ever written. One of the essays is about talk radio.

Ya know, he's a complete nutbag. But it is pretty entertaining. I hit up the podcast every now and again when I have nothing else new to listen to.

EDIT: I have no doubt in my mind that we will find my grandpa in his kitchen listening to whatever on Faux News when he passes.

im also a talk radio person. i listen to "whatever that one talk radio station in london is called" but i gotta say, it's not as good as the stations in the US used to be.

When I was in college I listened to Rush Limbaugh and other conservative talk radio shows all the time. Later I moved on to Howard Stern and NPR. Now that Howard Stern is strictly on satellite, the only talk radio I can stand is NPR.

I have no patience for the Conservative talk radio shows anymore. The worst part about them aren't even the content. The frequency of the advertisements and the annoying nature of them completely turned me off to commercial talk radio.
