Haven't seen one in person, but I saw some report on this on one of the nature channels. They were specifically bred (and inbred) to get those short legs. The cat version of the American Kennel Club is having a fit about this "new" breed and says it's cruel. Besides the obvious problems with inbreeding anyway, the shorter legs mean the cat can't jump or run as well, has limited defenses and is prone to all kinds of bone and joint problems.
