Have you drank till you blacked out?

I used to be a professional alcoholic. Of course I have.

I once passed out, while standing up, in mid-sentence. Apparently I was talking to someone and while I was talking, BAM hit the floor.

Guess it was time for nuh night.

I don't get how college people even have TIME to get drunk, when I was in college I had homework coming out of my ears. I was lucky to get a couple hours to myself. 1st year was not so bad, 2nd and 3rd as another story. Basically each teacher treated their class like it was the only class you have. "We wont see each other till Friday, so here's a project that will occupy your time for the next 2 days, its worth 20% of your mark, there will also be a test after so be sure to study!".

Different majors have different workloads.

I doubled majored in EE and CS. An average EE class probably took me 15-20 hours a week whereas an average CS class only took about 5 hours. That seemed to mirror other students as well. The EE labs were crowded 24/7 while I knew CS majors that had plenty of free time to do side projects and even start their own companies.

Both my EE and CS classes had projects and/or homework every week. Some of my other classes were just reading books and a few exams. I imagine that if you're not trying to make an A in a class with just exams, then you can get away with not doing much work most weeks and just cramming before the exams.

I've drank til I pass out regularly, but never 'blacked out' where you're conscious but unaware. I've even had severe alcohol poisoning, but still no blackout. Then again I have stupid resistance, don't get hangovers, etc...so it's all probably tied in.

about the acohol thing
i´m a "dry" alcoholic, so i´ve done that countless times
stopped drinking alcohol ~3 years ago, no drop ever since
once the decision was sincerely made, it was astonishingly easy

I have, twice, when i was around 17/18. Primary reason was not knowing my limits. We usually drank very fast as well, so we went from sober to wasted in like 2 hours.

Yep, twice. Once when I was 16, my mom waking me up off the floor the following morning. I blacked out a second time later that day during a panic attack dealing with the nausea. The other time happened the night before this Thanksgiving and you can read my L&R thread if you are so inclined.

You can blackout without throwing up OP. Yes, I have done it many many many times. But I know I have an alcohol problem, so I just don't drink anymore. Coming up on 2 years soon.

Yep, many times. That and a few run ins with the law was enough to convince me I had an alcohol problem. Nothing finer than waking up on the floor of a jail cell with no idea of how you have gotten there. Quit drinking 27 years ago - if I had not, I would not be here today.

Only a couple times- last one was at least 7 or so years ago - I absolutely hate the feeling of not knowing what I did the night before. As others have said- I never threw up during/after- actually I've never puked form drinking despite blacking out/drinking waaaaay more than anyone should. Been a long time since I've really gotten drunk though- as I get older the next day is horrible.

I never threw up. I had a tough gut.

I passed out most nights. It took me a couple years to learn how to fall asleep without passing out.

No. I can count on one hand the times I've been "buzzed". Never have had a hangover (never drink enough to trigger one) and haven't had an alcoholic beverage in ten years. I don't have any religious or control problem with alcohol, I just don't like the taste or how it makes me feel.

No. Never tasted alcohol, much less drank any of it.

Similar situation here, I have tried beer and liquor a handful of times, but always in very small amounts (and most of this was when I was 13) the last time I had anything at all was most of a Guiness in 2003. I don't recall ever feeling anything on any of these occasions. I don't think it was ever in sufficient quantity to give a buzz or anything.

A beer or a shot of liquor on a full stomach or during a meal don't do much for me. Empty stomach and it's instant fuxxored. It takes a good 2 or 3 shots of hard liquor or two beers to start going anywhere.

Yup, many a time smh. Fortunately I smartened up and started drinking more responsibly. Blacking out is never fun kids. Also could be a sign of alcoholism.

My last year of college. I lived with 3 of my best friends in a house and the youngest dude turned 21 in October. From that point onward we drank pretty heavily until one night I got so hammered I blacked out I knocked my now fiance over, pissed in the corner of my room, tried to fight the biggest guy in the room, and almost got put in the hospital when the guy shoved me and I hit my head on a bench. Also managed to call a few of my ex's.

It was an awful experience. Normally I'm a pretty calm and level headed guy and dealing with the aftermath was humiliating, expensive, and both emotional and physically painful.

Let's just say I know my limit now.

Different drinks affect people differently. Jaeger will make me blackout after only a few, for example. But I can polish off a 12pk of beer if I start with a full stomach and space it out over a few hours, with only a minor headache the next day. Rum gives me an instant painful heart burn.

I cant imagine drinking till you black out?

I've never thrown up from alcohol.
