I was arrested for working as a foreign citizen. I had a nice 6ft cell with a cement bench and a hole in the floor. Don't think I have thought about it since until this thread.

Arrested? No. Detained for 24 hrs? Yes.

Then there was the time I got pulled over by 4 cruisers, 2 from the front, 2 from behind. 6 cops total, all with weapons out (3 had shotguns) and pointed at me until they figured out I wasn't who they were looking for. Someone in the next town over had robbed a gas station and shot the attendant, driving a dark colored VW Rabbit, same as me. And before anyone shouts "My Cousin Vinny" this was in the mid 80's.

Yep. DUI. Didn't have headlights on and got pulled over shortly after leaving restaurant.

Cops were perfectly decent and honestly it helped me to see that I had a major substance abuse issue cause I didn't *feel* drunk at all and yet I blew a 0.13, just shy of felony DUI territory...

That didn't work for me, and I was 2 blocks from my house. I learned a lot about the DUI industry that night.
Edit: And the industry is trying to make it more lucrative by lowering the legal limit to .5. Legislation being debated right now.

Girl watching and not noticing that some asshole had wrenched up a manhole cover to a 30-45 degree angle from the sidewalk in an unfamiliar (to me) section of downtown Oakland, CA. Up I go, fall flat on my face and my bike falls on top of me. My left forearm swelled up about the size of a good size cantaloupe. The searing pain comes back from time to time, close to 20 years later. Thankfully, it goes away... until the next episode. The pain doesn't last long, a few minutes. I'd gladly pay your fine if it would heal my arm, but the world doesn't work that way. The muscle sheath was permanently fucked up, and there's nothing that can be done for it, so my M.D. brother told me.

Once in civilian life for curfew violation where I was involved in a drag race with another vehicle that t-boned itself on a utility pole and in the military for being "an active participant" (lol) in a brawl outside a bar in Saigon. When asked for a reason why "I embarrassed and humiliated the uniform, the unit I served in and the service it represented", in true military esoteric jargon my JAG rep rehearsed me to say with conviction that "I was defending and representing my platoon's integrity, upholding the reputation of the United States Army in Vietnam and the democracy we....(I forget the rest of the spiel). I got an Article 15 which was to my surprise expunged from my 201 upon going back to the world.

Got arrested in Hopkinsville, KY for contributing to the delinquency of a minor…one of four so arrested. We were sitting on the porch with the owner, daring to drink a beer with his 15 yo son present.

Judge ,at least, was disgusted with the moron cop and said as much when he threw out the case.
