Have you ever been tested?

I decided to get tested for HIV just a while back. It was a free test, and so I just did it.
I went in and everyone that works there has HIV, so they are very knowledgeable on the subject. The woman explained that the test was 100% accurate. Two lines means positive.
One line means negative. She pricked my finger and dropped the blood on the tester. She left the room. Two minutes later an older man comes in and starts asking me questions about my partners in the past and if I have used protection. He started drilling me about things like that.
My hands were shaking and for the first time I thought I just might have it. Why else is he asking me all this. Why is being so serious? And all the time he was holding the results so I could not see them.
Then he informed me I was negative. He thought it would be funny to scare me.

We were tested all the time in the Navy. Never had anything, but we got tested regardless.

I'm a regular blood donor so I get tested often. Never have been tested for testing's sake before though.

Had a roommate that donated blood and they told him it would be checked for HIV etc. They told him he would get a letter to schedule a follow-up appointment if they found anything. We came home after class one day and there was a letter from the blood bank on the table and he was just sitting there staring at it. We finally forced him to open it and it was a thank you note for donating blood.

My blood gets tested every time I donate. So every eight weeks or so. I'm going to start donating red blood cells so it will be tested every 16 weeks. Obviously I don't have anything but slightly high cholesterol.

Answering a bunch of questions regarding about that kind of stuff is common procedure. I was tested last year.

No STD's here. Some doctors are evil. They ask tons of questions that get you all scared, and at the end, they have a tiny curl in their lips in the form of a tiny smile and say "you are healthy".

I recall I went in for a swollen testicle when I was 17. I got raped with a q-tip in the pee hole for my trouble. They were looking for scabies or something.

You can, but many places offer free testing and you don't have to deal with your doc.

If I'm having bloodwork done (which is pretty rare) I have my doc throw in the antibody test since they are sticking me anyway.
