I used to get it once in a while. It's terrifying. You wake up and you can't move, can't catch your breath, ugh. I haven't had it in a few years though...

Apnea is when you hold your breath while you sleep. This is something entirely different. You wake up and you are paralyzed for a few minutes. Really scary.
