Have you ever had what might be considered a paranormal event?

HAd a dream last night where I was buying some power tools in some discount store and when I went to the cashier to pay for it, the cashier decided that he needed to test the radial saw and he ended up cutting off 2 of his fingers.

I have no idea why I had that dream...

I don't think I've ever experienced anything really weird like (ghosts, objects moving by themselves, etc). However, one day, as I was playing a little league game, I was up at bat and when the thought of getting hit in the head by a pitch crossed my mind. I had just finished this thought when the pitcher released the ball from his hand. Next thing I know I'm laying down in the dugout. I had been hit in the head by the pitch. I always thought that was strange.

Although some of the dreams I've been having on Paxil have come close. There have been a few that were so god damn fucking vivid that I had to pinch myself when I woke up to be 100% sure I WAS awake.

I once had a dream where I really needed to get to a bathroom. Then I woke up and discovered that there in fact was still a genuine need for a bathroom. It was uncanny.


Other than that, nothing comes to mind.

Nothing strange about that. Your body needed to go to the bathroom and just translated that into the dream.

I recently dreamed I was shopping online for some machine screws. Good old 6-32's.

So anyway, did you end up buying the saw?

I know. My post was to be read with the <sarcasm> tag, as I haven't ever seen anything that I'd classify as "paranormal," and I don't think that paranormal anythings truly exist.

Not talking alien probing here, but having a dream and relaying it to someone, then have it happen or something like that?

I think so. I was almost killed...broke 14 bones, lost half skin on body in fiery motorcycle accident and never touched my face or head. I was wearing shorts and converse tennis shoes and hit a car at 100. Should have been toast. I've been in lots of serious accidents since I raced a lot. Still here. 38 Look 25 according to peeps and have a resting HR of 38. Bring it.

Nothing has ever happened to me, I wish it would so I could experience it first hand. As far as family members, the only thing I've ever heard was my grandfather and a farm partner were out in a farm field late at night in Northern PA back in the 60's, when a UFO flew right above them, then stopped and hovered for a bit over them, then left.

They were not drinking or anything, and both saw the same thing. My grandfather was not one to tell lies, stories, or even really talk much so I believe he saw something that cannot be explained.

UFO's have always fascinated me, there are so many sightings and videos I wish our government would just come clean. The other night I was on youtube and watched a bunch of NASA videos of space missions that had UFO's in them. Some of the objects in the videos look like they could just be metors, but others move around and stop and go so there is no way.

Of course, like all other persons who experience these things (whether they know it or not), I was hallucinating or experiencing sleep paralysis. Specifically, hypnagogic or hypnopompic hallucinations.

Before I met my wife's family I had the strangest dream where I saw a small pond with a Great Blue Heron standing in it and a frog playing "The Red River Valley" on a harmonica.

It was very real, but strange and funny so I told my wife about it. That weekend I went to their home and looked out their window. In their yard they had a small pond with a Great Blue standing in it.

The frog? Well no of course. Instead, my future FIL was watching an old western with some cowboy playing the tune. I showed my wife the heron and she heard the music. Needless to say it was freaky.

I like to visit "haunted' places in the area, and took a drive to Bath, MI to visit the famous Bath Disaster site. The most somber place I have ever been. It felt sad.

lol.. it was pecking my bedroom door. It was more like a shadow than a ghost, but it was there. The only reason I remember that was because it was so weird.

Nope. I remember listening to a song one day and pulling up behind a car whose personalized license plate was the title of that song. I think it was "Mexico" by Incubus. Pretty long chances there, but then again I had been listening to that album a lot.

Couple of pretty freaky UFO sightings, first one about 10yrs ago, second one 2-3yrs later. Both were daytime sightings witnessed by others around me, never was a UFO believer, always a skeptic, but not anymore

Once - I don't believe that it is paranormal though.

My ex and I both saw it. We were sitting in the living room when there was a slight boom sound in the kitchen (clearly visible to both of us where we were sitting). We looked over and there was a glowing blue transparant orb (a bit smaller than a basketball) hovering 2-3 feet above the kitchen table. It faded out within about 2 seconds and there was no trace of it ever again. All of the outlets in the kitchen with ground fault interuptions were faulted. Nothing else was affected. There were no electronics or anything (other than the table and chairs) within about 5 feet of the kitchen table.

My ex thought it was ball lightning (there was no storm in the area). I'm not too sure what it was. I don't know enough about physics to know if in some very rare cases some strange space ray could create an exothermic reaction if it hit a particle in the air. The orb looked very similar to plasma that I've worked with at work in the lab.

the closest I'd come are these extremely vivid dreamlike situations I used to sometimes get where I think I woke up but I am completely paralyzed, I cant even murmur a sound. I feel like Uma Thurman in Kill Bill Vol 1 where I am fighting to break out of this paralysis by trying to wiggle my toe or something. And then there is always some impending danger like one time it was the clear sound of someone trying to get into my room - the sound of the door knob being rattled was so damn clear and vivid. And when I finally broke out of this feeling of paralysis I didnt think it was a dream at all and thought it was really happening. I pulled out my handgun and burst open the door expecting to see some crazy robber but nothing. Everything was quiet, no one was in the house. It must have been a dream, right?

My family would take vacations to a cottage on a lake that my mom grew up in over her summers. It was a small place with only 3 beds, so when we had extended family over my brother and I would have to share a bed. We were maybe 10-12 years old at the time and at about 3 in the morning I had this sensation that we were in the rowboat on the lake and it was stuck in mud. My brother, asleep also was having the exact same dream and he wouldn't get out of the bed to help me get the "boat" unstuck. We argued for a good 15 minutes before my parents came in to see what was happening. My mom woke us up and I had come to realization I was arguing with my twin in a dream and he was arguing back about the exact same thing. Fun Times.

What tscenter said, that sleep paralysis thing sounds so crazy. I am so glad it does not happen to me, I think it happens to my fiance though, but she doesn't want to talk about it.
