Being vaccinated now 15 (wife) and 28 (me) days post dose #2, we ventured out to run errands and shopping today.
We have picked up a lot of groceries and stuff from Sam's, Harris Teeter, our local grocery chain, and random stores, all offering curbside pickup. And a lot of beer from a local craft brewery that has curbside.
We have not been "inside" Sam's since mid-March 2020. OMG, they have move everything since then, moving stuff that has never been moved since they opened, 30 years ago. Stuff like pet food and laundry detergents. Well it is now paper products, which has "always" been in the far opposite corner of the store.
Someone at the door checking membership, which is normal, and had a supply of masks for those that might show up without. Everyone in the store was masked, though one old dude with his nose hanging out. And this is not meant to be racist, but the group... 3 - 4 Hispanic women, 4 - 5 small kids in the buggies, all with their masks under their chins eating pizza and slurping huge drinks. And block the aisles while they stopped to eat and chat. Not sure where they got the pizza as the food area up front is gone.
I have NOT missed the general public over that past year, or as my mother used to call them... "the great unwashed". But it did feel good to get out and actually pick out the steaks we wanted, and just browse the selection.
