I would clarify your statement to say reduced efficacy of monoclonal antibody treatments.

Not good news, but not surprising either given the nature of the mutations.

Also likely to mean previous infections and vaccine induced immunity is also reduced as the shape of the Spike is different enough to be fairly novel to your immune system and it's neutralizing antibodies.

Reinfections and breakthroughs will be greater than in Delta.

I know this is purely anecdotal, but my parents went on a cruise with a group of friends and four tested positive after, all did not have booster shots but did get two doses of mrna vaccines so they're all doing well. But my parents got boosters in late September and tested negative when they took PCRs. Kind of surprised the booster seemed to keep them from even getting infected despite it being almost three months. Anyways, just an anecdote about the boosters working even better than expected in this case. Though still the biggest takeaway should probably be to get your two main shots at least, as their friends aren't having bad reactions to catching the virus after all of them had gotten the two shots.

I saw a headline today that the Army is close to developing a vaccine for all COVID varieties which still remains to be seen. Meanwhile I'll see how that pans out with my 3 rounds of Pfizer.

I also anticipate that booster vaccination rate will be considerable less compare to current vaccination rate. As time goes by, less and less people will be willing to take a booster be it every few years or even yearly. Eventually equilibrium will happen and it will probably become stable around 50% same as with yearly flu vaccine .

Luckily, this latest variant omicron appears not so life threatening, however... the next variant could not only be more contagious than omicron but more deadlier than anything we have seen before. My point? Everyone needs to get vaccinated. Period.

They've created a mess that they themselves can't reel in anymore. Trump openly said that he got the booster when he was being interviewed by Bill O'Reilly, who himself was boosted, and Trump got boo'd by the audience. All the big presenters at Fox (ain't gonna call them reporters because they ain't) are vaccinated, yet the rubes don't or can't seem to connect the dots.
