Some stuff going around with price photos from Europe. $2000 minimum and as high as $3000 or so. I like it. This should really put the brakes on the scalpers if nothing else. At least that's something. Why should AIBs let scalpers steal their cards for $1000 and flip them the same day for $3000? That just makes the AIBs look like fools to be honest. If $3000 if the market price then that's what they should charge. I'm willing to bet that miners are still foaming at the mouth so hard, selling their own children for GPU money, that they'd still buy up as many 3080Ti's as they can possibly get for their GPU inspired home equity loan. Hash rate limits be damned. The GPUs will sell faster than the pixels on the screen can refresh from "coming soon" to "out of stock".

hmmm the two options at the bottom are blank... lol... its not OOS, or Notify.
But that is what is showing on my elite page.

If anyone needs an EVGA associate code for a discount, i have one and will give it to you via PM's.

Of course if anyone else has one, they can speak up, but please do not post it in the main chat or in your signatures as it is a form of advertisement, and can lead to use giving you warnings.
I was able to get into the queue today for a ftw version...after refreshing for 2 hours. I also have an invite link if anyone needs one.

Do they tell you your place in line?

I was looking for a gpu for my daughters boyfriend late last year and entered the 3060 Ti que's on Dec 2nd....6 months later....still waiting.

In the end I wound up selling him my Gigabyte Auros Master 3070 for my cost which worked out fine for him, but he would have rather had a cheaper solution. I guess he could always flip the 3070 if the 3060 Ti ever actually became available.

They don't tell you your place in line. Judging by twitter and the discord channels I was in, lots of people had issues entering the elite members queue. I don't know if that means less people got in eventually, or stopped trying. I kept refreshing until I eventually got through.

I know tomorrow they open up the queue for the public which will be more of the same crapshoot.

Evga technically can't sell the cards until after the official Nvidia release date according to a post I saw on the evga forums. My guess is they are using the elite queue to figure out how many they need to allocate first.

I don't understand any of this. The cards release date has passed, right? Did EVGA sell any cards? All I see are people talking about queues. I understand that a queue is used when people are waiting for a product to come in stock, but were there any cards in stock to begin with?

I saw a post on reddit that said only 46 cards were ticketed at one Best Buy. This seems to have been basically a paper launch and all stock goes on ebay. Also, what's going on with Samsung? I thought they had a lot of capacity. What's the deal with the shortage? What's in such short supply that Nvidia can't make any cards? I read that manufacturers were hoarding chip supply, simply panic buying chips.

Today I think it was just the elite queue. I don't think evga sold any cards this morning. I think their process is to do the queue first then allocate the inventory that way?

I don't know. There's not enough chips to go around. Anyway, the Ti release is the last stop for a generation of cards if I'm going to jump in, so that's it for me and the 3000 series. I'll just play Pavlov and Rocket League and be happy unless my 1080Ti dies. It's been under water since day 1, so the low temps should increase life span I'd think. Even an air cooled card can last like 10 years, so it will probably be fine.

From what I am reading around, it was just the queue today at evga. Then a public queue tomorrow for everyone else.

Which just means all online stores didn't get any inventory. Look at the nvidia.com store page. It says "check availability" and it takes you to best buy where it says available in person only at select stores.

I'm wondering if Nvidia has a contract with best buy to sell in person first before they allow other retailers to sell.

Or they only allocated about 5k total cards for all the best buy locations that were chosen. Someone on discord was keeping a spreadsheet of all the people lined up at the best buy locations and what they heard employees say about total stock. They actually built a small web app that you could fill out as questionnaire for those going out to camp at locations.

The whole chip shortage has me scratching my head. People say it's no surprise to them, but this seems to have happened very suddenly and is very severe. It seems like there is a big hold up somewhere. I can't imagine the whole issue affecting so many industries is caused by demand alone, as some claim. How does that explain the auto industry issue? I don't recall them having an issue before.

Okay. The word is that Nvidia's RTX 3080 Ti will be available on the 3rd of June. It'll cost north of $1K because it's a Ti card. So, friends, what can I do to get one? Stay up until midnight and then log-into Newegg? Or Best Buy? What should I do to ensure I get one? TY.
Were you able to buy one? I stayed up until midnight prowling Newegg and Best Buy, but no cigar. I tried again at 9AM and Newegg was all sold out. Best Buy broke my heart. They told me that they weren't selling the RTX 3080 Ti in any of their stores in my home State of MD. And those Best Buys that were selling them in other States required would-be customers to get to a store no later than 7:30AM to get a ticket and then wait until 9AM to get inside. Once the tickets ran out the unlucky late-comers were out of luck. I built my first PC in 2000 and every four to five years I'd upgrade it and never paid more than the advertised MSRP. I refuse to pay $2400 for an RTX 3080 whose MSRP is $700. Suddenly, graphics cards have become the new Beatles.

I'm seeing on the TeamEvga reddit page that purchase emails are starting to go out to people that were able to get into the notifications queue around 6am PST to 7am PST this morning.

I got into the queue at 7:50:12 am PST. We shall see.

Secondary chips that go into Chromebooks. Display controllers and other little chips like that. Intel's laptop volume was up 54%. Meanwhile the auto industry typically keeps inventory lean and they are getting beat on slack wafer orders by Dell suppliers and the like?
