Next, a demented man gets caught by police, and is accused of being Jean Valjean, the wanted criminal. Valjean admits his identity in court, saving the demented man, and begs the policeman (Inspector Javert) to have the chance to rescue Cosine, fulfilling his promise. Valjean rescues Cosette from the Thenardiers, taking her as his daughter, and goes on the run from the law.
Several years pass, and Valjean and Cosette are still on the lam from Inspector Javert. Cosette grows up, meets a young man (Marius), and falls in love with him. Marius gets involved with a radical group, who plots a revolution. The radical group revolts, and gets put down by the army. Marius is almost killed by a bullet, but is saved by a poor girl (Eponine) who loves him and takes the bullet for him. Valjean dresses as a soldier and rescues Marius from certain death. Thenardier (the man who abused Cosette as a child) sees him carrying Marius, and thinks Valjean murdered him. Thenardier relays this to Inspector Javert, who is still hunting Valjean.
Valjean gets caught by Inspector Javert, who has discovered the truth that Valjean is an honest man. He cannot find the will to arrest Valjean, but his sense of duty as a policeman will not let him release him either. He throws himself into the river rather than arresting him, freeing Valjean from years of running from the law.
Marius gets back together with Cosette. Valjean blesses their love on his deathbed. Valjean dies, and is buried in an unmarked grave. The end.

My GF and I saw it a year and a half ago on stage at the 5th Ave Theater in Seattle. I enjoyed it, I guess, I'm not a huge play/musical person, but it was enjoyable and funnier than I expected.
Unfortunately the next musical I saw was Cats and I am forever ruined on the medium. :|
