I've run the chkdsk utility several times already and each time, after trying to delete numerous corrupt files, at the very end it says an error occurs and then throws my into windows.
When I try to get any information from my application logs in event viewer, it says my event logs are corrupt and will not allow me to look at them. The most I could get was this:

I've started backing up again just incase.
any ideas on correcting this issue? Or is a reformat in order?
System specs:
Windows XP Pro
Athlon64 3200+ (not Oc'd)
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
2 wd 36gb raptors in raid 1 (OS which btw I had to rebuild the array for once today)
2 wd 80gb sata drives raid 1 (applications this also seems to have corruption issues and everytime I rebooted windows would do a chkdsk)
AIW ati x800xt
400 enermax PSU
couple of system fans.
