Having Problems with Outlook 2003

Ok here is my problem.
Wondering if there is a setting I can change or am I doing something wrong?

When a sender is sending me a picture that I know is a Gif or jpg. I want to right click and save it, its telling me that I can only save as .bmp. For Jpgs that is fine because I can convert to it from another program. The problem comes when they are animated Gifs if I go ahead and save as .bmp then the animation wont work anymore.

I want to be able to safe as what they were posted as.

Any help would be greatly Appreciated.

I am hoping someone here has either heard of problem or has run into it.

I have that same problem when saving pictures using IE. I don't have the problem with Mozilla. I wonder if it is some kind of worm/virus.

With IE I found if you clear out your temporary internet files and reboot it solves the problem. I have had that problem with IE before too. Was hoping it was the same with outlook but nope.

Well done SashiPooh, I have had the same problem for some time now and couldn't figure out what had changed, looked at all the settings in advanced to no avail. Then I read this post and Bingo, problem solved, can save as J-peg again, thanks again.

LOL glad it fixed your problem rofl I still can't get my pictures to save properly in Outlook 2003 they still want to be bmps. LOL Any one out there have any ideas please let me know.

Well, Just got my answer from Microsoft, they finally emailed me back. Apparently from what they said that unless the picture is sent as an attachment that the only choices you have is bmp or jpg, Outlook does not have the option to save it as a gif. Go figure......... well maybe in the next version.
