A few thing to beaware of when ordering from us.
1. Border crossing fees. Most delivery company charges this, with UPS being the A$$ they are, their charges are outrageous. I have heard $75 border crossing fee for a $50 item. FexEx is more reasonable, but the best bet is USPS.
2. Duties. Although NAFTA is suppose to eliminate most of these, but for stuff that is not made in the US, there may be duties you have to pay. This varies, so if the case is made in China, then you probably have to pay this.
3. Taxes. If you are buying from a legit store, then you have to pay GST. In ontario at least, you don't have to pay PST. They know the amount of the purchase because the delivery company has to declare the goods at the border.
If you bought from a some here in the forsale forum. You may still have to pay GST. It's a random process, if you are lucky, you don't pay, if not you have to pay. Government will make an assessment on what the good is worth and charge you the tax on it. (In my experience, I got charged 50% of the time, but this was prior to 911 and maybe things are more restricted now)
Anyways, to recap, here is what you have to worry about when ordering from US.
1. Border crossing fee. (With FedEx and USPS, I think it is very reasonable, $5 or so, but you may want to phone them to make sure, defintely do not go with UPS, if the company you are dealing with does not ship using other company, DO NOT ORDER the case, it's not worth it for you to pay $50 on fee)
2. Duties. This may apply, maybe the company you are dealing with will have a better idea.
3. Taxes, you have to 7%.
4. Don't forget shipping charges from US to Canada. (Border crossing fee is something extra)
So factor all that in and see if this is still worth your time.
