I'm in a hell of a pickle here.
I have thoroughly trashed a Dell E510 with the premise that I'd be able to just wipe it clean and start over using Dell's really neat PC Restore feature. I mean, I really hammered on it good. I jammed it with software, and even cut 10GB out of the main partition with Partition Magic, and did a dual boot XP/Vista so that I could test software and equipment in Vista.
Now I'm trying to invoke the PC Restore to magically take all of my problems away, and I can't seem to wake it up. I looked in the manual:
Dimension E510 Manuals
And it tells me to hit ctrl+F11 during the POST. This is totally not working. Hilariously, the manual even outlines how to remove this feature. I am guessing that this is to liberate the few GB's of space in the hidden partition that stores all of the recovery goodies.
Dell ships these PC's with no CD or DVD recovery discs, which is a real bummer. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?
