Hawking is like an aftermarket brand I believe, but not totally sure.
I just know they are incredibly cheap when it comes to prices. I always remember....you get what you pay for and that makes me buy at least mid-quality brandnames especially with routers. The most important aspects of things such as routers is to know if anyone can hack through them...which if there is a record of someone hacking through a good company's router, that's good news. That usually means that the company is aware of it and has fixed the problem which makes the router that much more secure. Also, if that has happened, it lets you know which companies care about security and keeping up with customers' needs. The next thing to look for is functionality. You should have a good user-interface for trying to setup your router...something easy and with as many options as possible. Many of the newer routers are web-based. I personally prefer a telnet interface, but make sure you know about every way someone can log into your router and use good passwords. Good luck on choosing a router that's right for you and your network.
