I installed this webcam on two different computers (following instructions exactly) and webcam driver quickly developed error message usb device unrecognized (no driver installed despite it being installed) or being used by another resource. Green light on camera would turn on during boot up and stay lit up, despite not being activated by Yahoo Instant Messenger or the Creative webcam suite.
I tried to reinstall and now I would get a driver failed to install message (extraction went fine, it would give me the error message about 90% into driver install).
Tried to do a meticulous uninstall (remove driver in hardware manager, add/remove, regedit, and removing the two folders that the webcam from hard drive), but still get the driver failed to install message.
Webcam did work initially when I first installed it with the Creative webcam suite (picture seemed pretty good and had less motion blur than my dad's Logitech Webcam Communicate SFX), but after I launched Yahoo instant messenger and tried to view the webcam, program crashed and that's when problems started.
Anyone know what's going on and how to fix it? (I also tried to install just the latest drivers from the Creative website, but this didn't fix anything)
I also suggest anyone installing this webcam make a hard drive image with Norton Ghost or Acronic True Image before making any install attempts. At least for me, it doesn't uninstall cleanly and just overwriting current install didn't work either.
