sisoft is notoriously bad for obtaining results from its database but this could awesome if true.

<conspiracy>maybe this why amd is silent on carrizo and fiji?!?!? </conspiracy>

maybe carrizo?
AMD Radeon Graphics Processor (6CU 384SP SM5.0 1GHz, 1GB 1.25GHz 2048-bit, PCIe 3.00 x16) (OpenGL)
http://www.sisoftware.eu/rank2011d/...e0d1e8d8ebd9e9cfbd80b096f396ab9bbdcef3cb&l=en

definitely kaveri a10-7700k.
AMD Radeon(TM) R7 Graphics (384SP 6C 720MHz, 2GB DDR3 1.33GHz 128-bit, Integrated Graphics) (OpenCL)
http://www.sisoftware.eu/rank2011d/...efdde4d4e6d0e7c1b38ebe98fd98a595b3c0fdc5&l=en

supposedly amd fiji.
AMD Radeon Graphics Processor (4096SP 64C 1GHz, 4GB 1.25GHz 4096-bit) (OpenCL)
http://www.sisoftware.eu/rank2011d/...dbe6deedd4e7d3f587ba8aacc9ac91a187f4c9f9&l=en

odd that at the same time the supposed amd fiji gpu gets leaked and shows up with the same crazy bit bus?

a little about skhynix hbm http://www.setphaserstostun.org/hc2...Bandwidth-Kim-Hynix-Hot Chips HBM 2014 v7.pdf

Either your links don't work or sisoft are having some problems atm. Do you happen to have screenies? Any tips to searching over there?

maybe but what are the chances of 2 bad readings in such a specific way? have you seen any other sisoft results with any other uber wide memory bus readings?
Nope but I haven't exactly looked for it either . The website is slow/down for me now so I cannot check :/.

Could AMD trying to rush out carrizo with hbm be the reason why there not literally no decent kaveri notebooks available in the US? Would like one with a 1080p screen and only HP has them available for ~1200.

Just as yourself, if Carrizo on FM2+ got enough room on the package for 2 stacks of HBM.

Isn't HBM crazy expensive thus viable for high-end gpu only? Putting HBM to budget apu build would increase its price to the point where CPU + dgpu will be much cheaper?

On the other hand, HBM can boost igp performance to dGPU levels. Right now APUs are bandwidth limited big time. With HBM that will change to TDP limit.

I hope amd will make 125 or even 140 Watt TDP APUs with HBM. The roadmaps show low tdp parts for carrizo (65w configurable?). I hope one can loosen that to "draw-as-much-as-u-can"

220 Watt TDP SoC PC anyone? ^^

Doubled the performance it true. Color Compression technology plus HBM.

Does 384sp on 2048 bit interface make any sense?

HBM is much wider by nature than other memory types, 1 module = 1024bits.

The memory interface is very small compared to GDDR5 despite the massive width.

You can try set it up with right vs wrong and see how it ends up.

Also you are talking against SK Hynix that makes the HBM stacks. But maybe you know something they dont?

lol why so serious? this is all speculation but it will be interesting to see how wrong you are... :whiste:

But isnt it like 128 gb/s? Isnt it overkill for 384sp?

I hope they put at least 768 shaders (260x).

Something like updated r9 270 in an APU with HBM wouldn't be too shabby.

If they cooperate with asus to make a small itx board designed for high performance APU, we could have a baseline for steambox here

The bandwith is fit for aprox 1000-1200sp. And that is imo the baseline for driving a 1080 display with all modern games at med-high setting.

Thats 270 class perf and thats leaps and bound beyond anything yet but it will make the separate gpu unessesary for 90% and kind of make a new product.

If say they go 512 sp they have a gpu that does not pull modern games at 1080p at med-high. And still the fatter carizo cpu is useless if not used for heavy multimedia including gaming.

I think its basic marketing. You need to have your segment clear defined. And not having a product that is just meh for its intended purpuse. If the apu can not be used for modern gaming what is the purpose of all the sp then?

With what, a 200W TDP? The APUs already throttle as it is.
