yeah, I still dont understand it.
why didn't bran wake up from the past to deal with the obvious danger going around him in the present?

bran warged into child Hodor to control adult Hodor?!
wtf?

so bran can interact with the past???

I swear it's like you watch this show while doing 5 other things.

The Waif clearly had it in for Arya from the beginning and wanted her gone or dead. She does not exhibit anything close to the detachment that Jaqen does and would seem to be required to be a Faceless Man. While she may be "nobody" she clearly has her own desires and motivation that revolve around taking pleasure in killing Arya. She even disobeyed his direct instructions about how she was to die.

I'm not convinced either way as to if it was really Arya or not and the possibility that it was a test but I can see the rationale.

Yeah, I think its a test for both Arya and The Waif. What I dont think is likely is that what we saw was just a test for The Waif, and the Arya we saw was Jaqen. And it doesnt make sense that The Waif was actually Arya, and Arya was actually The Waif. Although it would be funny if they had another showdown and they kept pulling off each others faces and did a Princess Bride I knew that you knew that I knew thing.

That is the thing though, Arya has come a long way; no chance she would goof that bad. But the waif thinks she would. I explained above what I think she did.

That would be a good plan, except Arya's behavior seemed like she wasnt actually prepared to draw The Waif out. Unless she was simply on her way back to her hideout and just happened to take in the view, and that was when The Waif decided to attack. Anyways, if that was her plan, I dont think its working the way she thought it would.

I'm assuming not arya that got stabbed. or not actually stabbed. the walk through the town looking all messed up and glancing at everyone assuming face dancer (wait, that was Dune right? anyway) was her trying to draw out waif and then kick ass.

Option two: Fight club.

Option 66: It was Jaquen and blah blah.

I'm not a fan of using the Freys to insert humor into the show, red wedding and all that. D&D have their flaws, taking the books to screens inherently has it's flaws too but Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill aren't helping.

I'm guessing if Arya did take some actual damage we're going to find out they were mostly mitigated/absorbed by those two sacks of cash she pulled back off the table just prior to the attack.

(I have not gone back and analyzed. I was also not distracted by 5 other things.)

That theory would be negated by the obscene amount of blood that billowed up in the water.

I just had a lengthy discussion about Lost this morning.
It truly was one of a kind TV show especially since it was one of the first TV shows to really embrace the internet. Remember all the websites and the hidden Easter eggs and clues that everyone was digging for?

And remember how it all meant nothing in the end?

I have no problem with the ending to Lost. After about season 3 I realized that there was no way that they were going to be able to write an ending that explained everything and made everyone happy.

That being said, I assure you the ending to GoT will be met with the same harsh criticism, fury and anger. There's no way they are going to make everyone happy.

Who do we think Sansa wrote to? Has that been discussed yet?
As I mentioned earlier, a bunch of people on the net got the info by taking screengrabs from the previous episode and piecing everything together. You can google it.

However, I chose not to read those articles because I'd rather just wait until the next episode to find out.

If you do decide to read it and post it, please put it in a spoiler tag.

Almost certainly Littlefinger. She seemed unhappy and desperate for doing whatever she was doing at the moment.

Some, or one, suggested here that she was writing to Blackfish, which makes little sense to me. She had already dispatched Brienne for that and seems a waste of time and resources to focus attention on one army.

I am not sure if she is aware of the siege or not--probably, I don't recall that exchange before sending Brienne off--but it makes even less sense to spend that amount of attention on a dude and his army that is currently trapped by another army.

Littlefinger is ready to aid her with a very large army--she knows that. She also knows that Littlefinger's intentions are dubious. Hence the resignation.

....only other thing I can imagine is writing to Cersei to tell her to come get her at Winterfell. ...if that message gets to Jaime at the same time Brienne is there, I could maybe see a tenuous truce/alliance forming between Lannisters (they don't seem to like the Freys all that much anyway), and Blackfish to sack Winterfell and kill Ramsay.

For what it's worth, I didn't read those screengrabs that other's mentioned, but I like this latter idea. It seems dramatic and a bit out there, but would at least show some balls on Sansa's part for the first time ever.

Ah yes I just read the Google Image thing. Very cool that they actually wrote that out, probably knowing people would analyze it.

One of the reasons I've never been a huge fan of the Sansa character is because up to now she's really always just been the damsel in distress.

Why does Jon want to wage a siege against Ramsy? Snow is outnumbered two to one and the attacker if anything faces a disadvantage against a fortified building. It seems like Theon went on about how you'd only need a fraction of the men to hold out against many more when hunkering down in a well built fort. If that's true, why not sit in Castle Black and wait for Ramsy to make the first move? The politics of Ramsy clearly being the aggressor aside, it seems like a more strategic move.

Castle Black is not fortified against an attack that doesn't come from the north of the wall.

Also perhaps the Starks and Jon know of secret ways into the crypts below Winterfell or other weak points that would make attacking it much easier than expected.

Well between the cold that did Stannis in, the numbers disparity and the disadvantage of mounting an attack on a fortified structure it seems hard to imagine how Snow could possibly win. I mean if Little finger and Sam's dad both show up with an army and agree to fight with Jon Snow then sure. Seems a bit of a stretch though.

Castle Black isn't really the best fort, its very protected on the one side with the big wall but the other side seems very mediocre.

I think that's maybe what Davos was alluding too, he says there going to have to be smart with the number of people they have so there only chance might be in the open. They don't have siege equipment, but the Vale army could change the whole game.
