*eyeballs the HEAPING PILE of corpses next to our heroes...

Yup, nothing wrong with that.
*grabs popcorn

Funny you singled that out. If you read the thread, you'll noticed I mentioned it earlier too and said it was a stupid thing to do, but you know what? I shrugged and moved past it and enjoyed all the good things that were happening on the screen.

There's lots of stupid things in this show (and every other TV/movie/book) that make no sense. If you get hung up on these things to the point where it ruins the show for you, then stop watching. Don't watch and bitch about them unendingly.

It would be easy to ignore if it was just a part of the scenery, unfortunately they made it an integral part of the battle.

The hill of dead people was only stupid by its size. If the bodies had heaped up 3 or 4 feet tall it would have been a lot more believable than that 8 foot pile that was there. Now, a pile of that size could have formed if the only means the armies had to each other was by going over that pile and there had been an extended pitched battle being waged on the top of the mound then it could grow to that size, but this wasn't a battle being waged in a pass between two cliffs.

I agree. I liked the concept, but the excessive height seemed stupid.

P.S. I'm looking forward to Sam and Gilly, Arya, and Bran in the finale. Already had my fill of the Khaleesi, Jon Snow, and Sansa. I could go for some more Tyrion though.

Agreed and that's pretty much what I said too in my earlier post. But meh -- whatever. You have to suspend some belief and there's always going to be some eye rolling.

I agree you have to suspend some belief, but the producers try hard to make you think beyond what you see so hard not to be critical. To me it was clear that Ramsey's strategy was to make that wall by the constant arrow barrage. Ramsey used the same strategy that Jon and Ser Davos planned, using patience (waiting for wall to be high enough to cover pincer move) to surround Jon's army on three sides furthering the idea that the two bastards are mirrors of each other.

You don't seem to realize the point... of my pointing it out.
See the post above.

We expect the white walkers to be meaningful at some point in this series. Like now.
Our heroes will not escape south unharmed, thanks to those thousands of zombies.

I want an episode about the Iron Bank assessing the situation changes since we last visited their HQ.

Like the wall made of high snow... snow made high wall...

Thew hole show is a series of real historical things exaggerated into fantastical proportions.

Greek Fire can't blow up fleets;
People can't squish heads with their hands;
Suffering from dwarfism makes it harder to old liquor;
Ice zombies can't resurrect people with a wave of their hands;

Next we'll be pissed that the dragons didn't eat enough calories to breath fire...

Considering how the writing has gone with Arya's character this season, I fully expect Littlefinger to help Jon/Sansa win back Winterfell and then promptly retreat back to the Vale and promise to aid them further on with no strings attached re: support of the Vale army, possibly semi-retire as an honest, profitable, brothel owner and perhaps treasury to the kingdom.

I do not think Littlefinger has any plans of heading back to the Vale if he does come to the rescue, unless it is just to bide some time. He has always had a vendetta to "screw them all", to put it politely, and has large ambitions.

Theres absolutely no way Littlefinger is doing any of this just to retire as a big brothel owner after starting the war of the five kings. He was already a profitable brothel keeper and council member before everything happened. He wants a chunk of westeros for himself.

Hey, guys: you really suck at sarcasm. There, I bolded the qualifying part of my post.

I was waiting for someone to say something like this.

Here's what you don't understand:
We are OK with suspending disbelief for a required fantasy element needed for telling this fantasy story. The wall of bodies was not one of those things. Rickon running in a straight line was not one of those things.

When a writer fails to explain something easily explainable without requiring the viewer to pointlessly suspend disbelief, that writer is peddling schlock.

Rickon was dead long before he was told to run to Jon, Wun Wun was dead long before the battle because Martin and/or D&D wanted them dead.

Rickon's death might have have even been necessary for future events. Maybe Martin had to create the situation in which there are no legitimate Stark males south of the wall, having Rickon live could interfere with where Martin is taking the story.

It's a slippery slope, once you start questioning Rickon's death, might as well say that Robb should have worn more armor and have a larger escort at the the Frey reception or that Bran should have listened to his mother when she told him to stop climbing the damn walls...

So you think it's easier to suspend disbelief of someone exploding a skull with his bare hands over a terrified child running in a straight line?

It's amazing to me that we just saw probably one of the best battle scenes ever filmed, TV or movie, and yet some of you people STILL focus on a minor flaw which encompassed about 1 minute of the hour long episode. Do you realize how ridiculous you sound? Get a grip already.

Yeah, I don't get it. It was a brilliantly-crafted scene all together. The long tracking shot with Jon, the growing corpse wall--this was absolutely brilliant. How anyone can complain about this device is mind-boggling to me.

So what if John acts irrational and trashes his plan when Ramsay taunts him. People are irrational beings. Shit happens all the time.

Yeah, the show has gone a bit hollywood this last season with everything finally working out for the remaining good people, just when it shouldn't, but maybe that is why we have to sit through a bunch of "shocking" killing for 5 seasons and god knows how many useless tomes of words the book readers tortured themselves with.
