100% correct (except for GRRM fleshing out anything in the books, as I just have zero faith in those things every happening)

How can you say "100% correct"?

Where is Catelyn Stark shown to be loving and kind? Or even particularly rational? She gets Tyrion imprisoned and sentenced to death with little evidence other than the ravings of her known crazy sister and finding a blonde hair. And she lets Jaime, a valuable war criminal, escape in the hopes that he'll rescue her daughters.

She loves her husband and her children, and isn't anywhere near as contriving and manipulative as Cersei. She wants Rob to marry that ugly Walder girl not for love but because it's best for the house. And other things.

robb kind of agreed to it (to cross the twins i think). and wasn't the girl the one that became edmure's wife?

because she believe John is Neds bastard son. pretty sure any woman would be pissed having to raise their husbands child from another woman

Pretty much this.

Jon is her husband's child by another woman and proof that he wandered around (or did he? Stannis doubted it... but /shrug) after they were married.

Being a Lord's bastard Jon could've been fostered with another highborn family or sent to a blacksmith or some other tradesperson and had his apprenticeship paid for. Not an unreasonable thing to expect as Lord Stark had the resources to do this and smooth things over with his wife.

Yet Lord Stark kept Jon close by in Winterfell as a reminder of his infidelity to his Lady (at least from Lady Cat's point of view).

You can also get accused of this....

if you mention the wrong thing in the show wiki here....

just saying.

Yeah. Lotta thin skin.

I love that people don't want book/wiki spoilers but never plan on reading the books. The TV show is hardly a self contained being.

i never plan on reading the books, after the first season i read pretty much all of awoiaf.westeros.org and still enjoyed the show. it's even better now that it's off the rails.

Obviously my own personal opinion here, but maybe cause the books just aren't that good? I made it to book 3 (i think) when they were first released and finally just put the series down. And I almost always finish a book once I start it. I wasn't planning on watching the show at all because of my distaste of GRRM. The GF loves the show though, and as I've caught episodes it really is more entertaining than the books ever were.

The show takes what was interesting about the books, and cuts out all the drivel.

Neptune orbits the Sun once every 164.8 years.
The long orbital period of Neptune results in seasons lasting forty years.

so the planet where our GoT gang lives has a big orbit but smaller than Neptune's, if using real world physics.
their sun must be really hot if they have Earth like temps that far from the sun.
yeah, I know..

Old Nan explained explicitly that the world is in the eye of a giant. Just look as they fly around the map, it's from the perspective of being INSIDE not OUTSIDE of a sphere.

But if they're in a Dyson sphere, the weather should never change.

that's exactly the point though.

Speaking about the show wiki. That site is keeps very much to what has been revealed in the show and very rarely divulges book information unless it's at the bottom of a subject page.

That being said people into crusades in the name of purity control have found even that information verbotten for some reason.

I read all of them, and I agree, the books aren't that good. The show is definitely better. But in the same way that Lord of the Rings is a classic, but commits many errors of literature form, GRR Martin does the same thing by spending way too much time on pure fluff.

Don't get me wrong, the books are entertaining and not as bad as Twilight or other trash. I just think the show does a better job of telling the story of these characters.

Good episode. Another slow one but starting to tie some of the threads together.
Sucks about Arya. Realistically, she should not survive with those wounds but clearly they plan to keep her around.

Ughh these fuckers give us Ian McShane and then rip him away in the same episode? Damn you GoT for taking all that is nice and pretty from me!

The Arya thing didn't go quite the way I envisioned it.

I thought tonight's episode sucked. It was like a crazy old uncle telling a story, sort of rambled around with one or two interesting points.

I believe Waif and Arya are both Arya. Inner conflict. Fight Club like. She isn't actually bleeding as can be evidenced by the citizens looking at her strangely as she walks in the streets.

Hmm very good insight. I can see this theory being real

Something didn't seem right with the Arya scene, she seemed way to calm just walking around with no care in the world, she knows she is being hunted and perhaps this was her plan.

Say wha? Couldn't disagree more. But - to each his own.
