To negate the marksmanship of the archer, all you have to do is change directions with greater frequency than the archer's rate of fire. Pretty easy.

Or run behind those flaming human x's. Why the fuck he didn't run there is beyond me. It also reminded me of a scene in Apocalypto (a ridiculously good movie, imo)
And yea, at the very least, run in a serpentine fashion, derp-head.

Actually he's a child of the long summer who has never known winter.

That, sr., his hilarious :-D

It's the modern hipster-pop zeitgeist. "Early GOT was great"; "I liked game of thrones before it was cool"; "I used to love GOT now it's just hollywood crap".

Expressing disagreement with something that is popular, and presenting a reason, is the quickest way to look smart. When that reason doesn't hold simply ignoring how wrong you were is the surest way to prove that you aren't.

See all the posts disproving this disagreement which are entirely ignored.

"Mmmmm schlock! Munch...crunch...BURRP! Got any more?" -DixyCrat

"Certainly!" -Hollywood

If you had your way, there'd be more Big Bang Theory on TV and less Silicon Valley.

Doesn't seem like she knew that Ramsey considers his men to be expendable/disposable. Also, why didn't she tell them she sent for Littlefinger and the knights? Might have been good to know about that when they were scrounging the north for any support they could find. Oh. I actually do know why: It was so they could have a Lord of the Rings moment.

Granted, that sort of attitude is cliche but it's cliche for a reason - because it's so often true. For example there are bands that I've loved and they decided to try to cash in on their minor amount of fame and it completely ruined their music. There was still the shadow of the original sound but everything that made you love it was gone.

It also tends to be true of tv programs. The early seasons tend to have a lot more thought and creativity behind them. As time goes on though, the writers get into a rut and run out of new ideas. I mean seriously, think of how many times you've seen that in a tv show. It's so common it's cliche.

Sure: Season 4 (+/- 1) tends to be the best of any show because the writers are used to the characters, the actors know who they are, but the show isn't out of plot devices. And there are legitimate claims against this show: see the sand snake debacle.

But hating on one of the best episode 9s of one of the best shows on TV simply because it saves the best parts for episode 9?

Only if you're so jaded you can't enjoy things any more; so pretentious that you never could in the first place; or so trolly that you just like to rake the muck in a bucolic stream.

Here's DixyCrat's Episode 10 challenge: Imagine you are enjoying the show while you watch it.

I like watching Alt Shift X's recaps. He gives a really thorough and knowledgeable analysis of the episodes, bringing in a lot of book comparisons and background (so you have to be okay with that). He calls out the stupider stuff still but he also has a lot of enthusiasm for the better parts. Really helps keep the show enjoyable vs getting bogged down in forum posts that only focus on the negatives.

Only bad part is they don't come out until like Thursday.

Actually he's a child of the long summer who has never known winter.

I believe there is such a thing as a summer snow that happens in Winterfell. Sansa recollects one occurring with snowballs the last day she was in Winterfell, in the book A Storm of Swords (bottom of page 1099). But whatever, I didnt read the books, and I've read as much as I care to. So substitute dirt clods or rocks for snowballs.

Interestingly, her recollection of snow seem like the basis for the scene when Sansa was building a snow castle in the Eyrie and Little Finger kisses her. It actually explains why she was making the snow castle in the first place.

And while I was looking for snow scenes in the show, we see in the first episode the kids are learning how to use a bow. Well, at least Bran is, Rickon is helping, but he has a little wooden sword. hehe

Man, it seems like such a long time ago. Everyone happy, Catelyn giving Jon Snow the evil eye...good times. The kids have been split apart for so long I almost forget they were a close family.

^ OK LOOK! I asked my 6 year old "If I was shooting at you show me how you would run away" and he ran serpentine. I asked him "why didn't you run strait" he said "because unless you go side to side the arrow will shoot you".

so... wasn't entirely right.

so much as the opposite.

That is all.

The most useful part of her advice was that Ramsay doesn't get trapped, he lays traps and she was right.

You're over-thinking it, she was making a snow castle...

There was snow in the Vale and it wasn't quite winter yet.

her advise was very clear, don't do what Ramsey expects you to do, in other words, don't go after Rickon and screw yourself.

they made it very clear the only way to win was for Ramsey to attack them instead of what happened.

but they never had a specific plan to goad ramsey into attacking. they just hoped he would...fail

Read from page 1099 to 1104 from the link in the previous post. Unless Little Finger kissed her twice at the Vale while she was making a snow castle, I'm pretty sure that was an extended version of what we saw in the show.

Alternatively: if you hate the show, don't watch it.

Where's the fun in that? If you don't watch it, you can't piss in everyone's Cheerios then!

The show/writting is not as good as Season 1/2/etc. But it's still a very_good_show. People saying "I hate it" and ripping every little nuance in the show to threads are sad. The whole show has become WAY to analyzed and torn apart frame-by-frame. Vocal minority raises way too many issues in attempts to claim superiority. Just sit back, relax and enjoy it.
