Actually he's a child of the long summer who has never known winter.
I believe there is such a thing as a summer snow that happens in Winterfell. Sansa recollects one occurring with snowballs the last day she was in Winterfell, in the book
A Storm of Swords (bottom of page 1099). But whatever, I didnt read the books, and I've read as much as I care to. So substitute dirt clods or rocks for snowballs.
Interestingly, her recollection of snow seem like the basis for the scene when Sansa was building a snow castle in the Eyrie and Little Finger kisses her. It actually explains why she was making the snow castle in the first place.
And while I was looking for snow scenes in the show, we see in the first episode the kids are learning how to use a bow. Well, at least Bran is, Rickon is helping, but he has a little wooden sword. hehe

Man, it seems like such a long time ago. Everyone happy, Catelyn giving Jon Snow the evil eye...good times. The kids have been split apart for so long I almost forget they were a close family.
