"But, House Mormont remembers. The North remembers! We know no King but the King of the North whose name is Stark. I don't care if he's a bastard. Ned Stark's blood runs through his veins. He's my king–from this day until his last day."

Shame about that Ned Stark part being wrong. Not that it even really matters. I wonder just how many times the patrilineal ancestry of these millennia old great houses was broken by children illegitimate unbeknownst to the head of the house. Or where the head kept it a secret to not cause a fuss.

She's probably the most fit to lead of any of the remaining players. Probably my favorite character this season.

To anyone who still doesn't think Jon is a Targaryen consider this.

His mother is a Stark - Winter is Coming - Ice
His father as a Targaryen - Dragons, flame proof - Fire

Jon is literally Ice and Fire which goes along nicely with the whole Song of Ice and Fire thing.

First shot off the episode is Cersei looking over Kingslanding towards the Sept (I need to admit that I did not get that the Sept was so far away from the keep, thought it was at the same place). I though "Never seen such a view of kingslanding till now".

Episode goes on. Process starts, people are in the Sept. Then we see Cersei again starring at the Sept from her keep...like she is waiting for something to happen. What could possible happen she could see from there? Well if the whole things gets blown up. What can you use to blow up stuff? Wildfire maybe? Totally called it.

And somehow I'm actually with her. Yes it's evil and terrible but if you push someone into a corner, expect an overreaction. What were they expecting? Cersei to just let it happen? Doubt the Sparrow would be this naive after having been ingenious before, at least when Margery was starting to panic he should have got it...All Cerseis enemies in one enclosed space...What could possibly go wrong. I hated the sparrow and the whole arch. Good they are all gone. Gives more screen time to the interesting things like dragons and white walkers.

This whole episode was about one major error you can make if you play the game of thrones: Destroy your enemies completely.

- Daenaris is still alive...should have killed her back then.
- Too many Starks are still alive... should have killed them all not just Rob
- Too much freedom for Cersei....should have kept her in captivity till her process just like Loras.
- Not killing all Tyrells...

I'm just very very happy with the episode. Finally some redemption for the good guys and hell lot of "Holy shit" moments. Just thinking about how much happened in that episode makes me feel good.
-The whole King's landing extravaganza
-Sam and his finally getting to the library
-Jon Snow's parentage
-Mellisandre paying(in a way) for Shireen's death and in turn, closure for Davos
-Frey and his pies
-That whole moment with Tyrion being named the Hand of the Queen. For a second I thought he was falling for Dany, then realized it was probably out of respect.
-The Lady of thorns making that agreement with the Dorne ladies and Varys being there to collect them all and dump them to Daenerys.
This episode could've been an entire season worth of episodes if they wanted to stretch it.
So satisfied!

You forgot about Cersei's walk of shame already? We were just shown last season how far exactly it was from the Sept to the Red Keep

So was Cersei expecting to lose her son in this coup or what? Her caring for her kids has always been like her sole redeeming trait, but it was like it was cast aside.

i don't think she was expecting to lose her son, or else why would she have had the mountain stop him from leaving?

i think it's more a sign of how crazy the bitch is.

See, I don't view it that way. Some of us want you and a couple of other knuckle-dragging mouth-breathers to start your own thread so you can live in a little idyllic wonderland with the few people who are too freaking stupid to notice that none of this shit makes sense anymore. All they're doing is concocting cliffhangers to appeal to people who can't follow along with intricate plotting. Noticing that does not make us smart, failing to notice makes YOU stupid.

The neckbeard is strong with this one.

Thanks for the answers. So does any anyone think Jamie might become the queen slayer? Normally I'd say nothing could come between him and his sis. But a coup that cost him his son could be the sole wedge possible of creating friction between them. Jamie is equally unlikely to approve of killing tons of people with the green fire as he killed the king over it before. Taken together even Jamie may be starting to have his doubts of siding with Cersei.

here is the link
https://winteriscoming.net/2016/06/27/how-did-varys-travel-between-dorne-and-meereen-so-quickly/

There was a lot of time between Daenerys getting ready and all the stuff with Dorne. Jaime and Bonn went from the Twins to Kings Landing so there was time from Varys to go to Dorne, pick up the sand snakes and Olena and their ships and back to Meereen.

Edit: Remember Varys left before the masters attacked seeking more ships in Westeros for Daenerys so he came back to Meereen with the Dornish ships to add to what Daenerys got from Yara and the masters.

ok on dorne ships. they're the ones with the yellow sails, right?
but still didn't see Olena in that fleet?

Saddest episode all season. Two sets of perfect boobs ripped away from us. Ughhh. Damn you Game of Thrones!

Ok this is bugging the hell out of me. this was one of the first comments in this thread for the finale episode. I read all the subsequent pages trying to figure it out but to no avail...

Two sets of boobs???

the easiest way to fix this is to have a complete 10eps 8th season, since they are doing season 8 anyway

8-9 hours of high quality final footage in a year is a huge demand and the cracks have been showing. I'd much rather have a few fewer episodes if it means that they're less rushed, contain less needless padding (Arya's arc..) and are more ambitious.

I'm sure we'll be seeing more of her.

Septa Unella? I dunno...
