I think the biggest disappointment in this episode was

im an episode behind.
just watched e3 with the white walkers. Questions:

1) dothaki still had their steel swords?! no dragonglass???
what was the original plan with them vs the white walkers if the Red Witch hadn't come along?

2) dragon vs ice dragon: why didn't the dragon breath fire on the ice dragon since it's a white walker?
what was jon/Daenerys plan to fight the ice dragon??

3) Arya coming in from left field? wtf?
where did she jump from to get that kind of height???

4) the last scene of the lesser stars being over runned and pushed against the wall: how unrealistic!
in past episodes, the show tries to depict realistic fights.

overall, the fight scenes remind me of the old kung fu movies where there's like 20 bad guys but against the star of the show, they fight him one on one and the rest are nowhere to be found.
meh!

5) explain the red witches last scene?

Season 8 Episode 4: Characters staring at other characters for long periods of time

I can deal with the predictably bad decision to split their forces but the end was really choppy for me.
Our fleet got completely destroyed and only a few managed to swim to shore.
*jump cut*
We're now outside of King's Landing

Also I feel like the North raised quite a few people from the dead. No way they had more than 22 people left after the scenes in the last episode. "The remaining Dothraki" You mean the 3 that managed to make it back? And who needs to rest after defeating a tidal wave of undead anyway...

I do think they've done a good job of getting a lot of the characters into play for the final battle without being too awkward about it

Because I've watched every episode multiple time. Read the books multiple times. And I'm going to see it through to the end. That's really not hard to understand.
I'm voicing my opinion that the show as a whole has significantly gone down hill in the past several seasons and has changed significantly from what it was for the previous seasons.
It has gone from a well told, intricately intertwined character driven piece to a medieval Michael Bay movie. It is a shame that it's gone down this route.

Most people leave one bad review on Amazon and don't purchase the item again.

They don't buy multiple items and then leave reviews for each purchase.

They typically won't buy the product again if they don't like it.

It's got nothing to do with being a "book snob". You can't objectively tell me that the TV show hasn't change significantly since S1 -> S8 and how the story is told.
And for what it's worth I bought the same item 6 times from HBO - 6 seasons of GoT. Then the 7th time I bought it I noticed something things were different than my previous 6 purchases. Now the 8th time I bought it, it's pure shit.

I waited till last night to start watching this season. Watched them all in order of course. 3 for me, was battle of helms deep meets infinity war. The infinity war part, was that we get all of our heroes together fighting an epic battle. Helms deep was obvious, and I am glad others saw it that way too.

My thought was she is just a sneaky quiet ninja basically. But a friend had mentioned that she made herself look like one of the night kings leaders to get close. At first i liked that idea, but i highly doubt she could infiltrate that close. disrobe her costume and mask and make a sneak attack like that. So im back to my "she just quietly ninja leaped out of no where". Either way it was a boring ending to the NK i though.

I've seen that idea floating around too. It doesn't make much sense. How do you steal a White Walker's face? When you kill them they shatter. She was just super-sneaky about it and is an uber-assassin at this point. And yeah. horrible way to (presumably) end the NK's story line.

When they passed the books it started to suck.

And Euron is one of the most annoying one-dimensional characters on the show. Or maybe it's the actor. Ramsay and Joffrey were amazing bad guys.

Euron as depicted in the books is truly terrifying, I don’t get the angle they went with on the show, as bad as how the show handled Dorne.

Right - why not have him doing the whole blood magic thing like he did in the books. Show how crazy and ruthless he was. If I recall he was beheading a crew member or something like that to provide blood magic for battles? If they show how crazy he is, it would lend some story into what depths Cersei is willing to go to.

I remember that. Obvious attempt by B&W to salvage that disaster. If they were smart they'd just pretend Dorne doesn't exist any more. Although I wouldn't put it past them to have some Dornish army roll up at the last minute and save the day.
