I came to ...enjoy? it the last 2 or 3 episodes. I don't know why. Maybe it's because the Rock became interesting somewhat.

The show needs jokes, though. If it had humor, it would be good.

It's a mediocre show at best that is ONLY being carried by The Rock's charisma. I watched season 1 (though I don't recall AT ALL what actually transpired) and I am sure I will watch season 2.

There's actually a lot of great TV series about to fire up again by the end of July:

Check it Out! with Dr. Steve Brule
Mr. Robot
Battle Bots (guilty pleasure)
Marco Polo (it isn't the best, but it's solid)
Ballers (see above)
Vice Principals (Danny McBride!)
Halt and Catch Fire

How any interaction between Gilfoyle and Dinesh isn't found incredibly hilarious is beyond me. The jacket was amazing. And Jared's reaction to being on the board was priceless.

exactly! This show hasn't lost its steam at all

So is India just full of sweat shops creating new facebook users everyday?

Nothing in this show has made me laugh as hard as I did when they were calculating the maximum amount of dicks you can jerk off at one time. That shit had me in tears.

The scene at the end saved what was a rather lackluster episode imo. Its the same thing he's rich he's broke he's rich he's broke over and over.

That was truly an inspired episode, same reaction here...

I particularly liked the part where Monica instantly reads Jared. "I see you've told Jared." LOL! The actor knows his character.

While this was the first episode where I felt jerked around by the formula, that is the theme of the show (Silicon Valley ups/downs). SV is volatile.

Dinesh brags about his video messaging app and some woman at a party laughs at him, asking if he thinks he's invented Skype?

And Pied Piper's great idea for the most revolutionary compression algorithm ever known to man is to create yet another Dropbox clone?

The Box is actually looking like it might have been the smarter play here.

The application to video chat is obviously going to be their break-out hit/savior. It's the whole reason they had Erlich acting dismissive of it.

Anyway, they are describing something more like FreeNET P2P than DropBox.

For the end user, it's all file storage. Exactly the same issue that the end users on the show had - they don't give a shit if it's P2P.

Although how they manage to make P2P file storage work while using 0 bytes of storage on all of the P2P devices is another bit of tech silliness.

Well there's the main reason why FB is free for the masses. A huge company working daily to improve their platform at no cost to us, but obviously they need to stay afloat.

Remember classmates.com? That wasn't free (until they had to adapt).

As common FB users, what do LIKES for a company really mean for us anyway? If I see a company with 300 likes vs. one with 1500 likes, I'd just assume it's not yet popular or caught on, rather than infer that it's not as good of a business. The system without DISlikes is kind of pointless in that sense. Sort of like the download count within an app store vs. its actual star ratings.

As explained, it's not about that. More Likes increases exposure based on Facebook's own algorithms. It's one way Facebook decides whether or not you see something in your feed or not at all. The problem is that paying for promotion with Facebook is shooting yourself in the foot because of the way it works and because they give you fake Likes.

The Likes system is not about reviews and comparisons. It's about algorithmically determining what content appears on your feed.

There's always a lot of small jokes in a comedy. I don't know if people got this one.

The Spiritual Advisor to Gavin Belson was dining with him and trying to milk Gavin for every cent possible.

Did you see the big juicy 3 inch thick steak the Spiritual Advisor was eating, Just Wow!

I assume he's Hindu and not big on consuming beef. Although not a tech joke, that made me laugh.

Did anyone else notice that?

Yes! I thought the guru was going to pick up the plate and carry it with him when he was asked to step away from the table.

Yup! Along with the concomitant jokes of a) his "spiritual" advice not to quit the company in anger . . . at least before the senior executive whitewater trip . . . and when the security guy wants to s/w Gavin alone and the SA is slow to realize that means he has to leave the table . . . so he hurriedly carves off one last chunk of sacred cow flesh and jams it in his slaveringly secular maw.

LOL, on a whim, I thought of the click farm and bought 1,000 Twitter followers for $3 on eBay. I now have 1,220 Twitter followers in a matter of 4 hours.
